NAWA Glory 8/21/03

In the Commissioner's Office:

Norman Smiley is just beginning to meet with Ricky Steamboat.

Steamboat: Christopher Daniels has acted upon his rematch clause from back at Night of the Rogues and thus you will have to defend the International Title against him tonight on Glory in the Main Event.

Norman: That's fine Commissioner. He has won singles match and I beat him once. I need to find out who the better man really is. I also want to act upon my favor that I got from being on your team at War Games.

Steamboat: Oh and what would this be?

Norman: An NAWA World Tag Team Title Match at Truth or Consequences.

Steamboat: Normally that wouldn't be possible but since it was through your favor that you earned, I am going to reluctantly make the match, despite the fact their is a strong possibility that Christopher Daniels may have to go alone in the tag team title defense, because Raven is not good to go. It surprises me that you asked for this, as you normally wouldn't take advantage of a situation like this. That's all I going to say because as Commissioner I am supposed to be unbiased.

Norman turns around and leaves the office.

Steamboat: Very odd that he asked for that match when he knew Raven was injured. Someone must have put it up to it but I am not going to press the issue. Daniels is just going to have to fight it out.

Douglas: What the hell do you want?

Lynn: Douglas, you should know better then to show such disrespect to a superior wrestler such as me. Someone decided it would be a bang up idea for us to team up tonight in a tag team match. I am not too pleased and I am going to tell you this. You better hold up your end or I will end your career.

Douglas: Is that so Lynn? Well I made my career on pinning people who think they are better than the Franchise. The one time we fought in this promotion in the Semifinals of the Gold Rush Tournament, I do believe that I came up on top.

Lynn: Yes, Douglas. After you hit me with a foreign object. You could not wrestle me straight up and if you manage to win the NAWA World Title, I am coming after you and the belt once again adn this time I will get my title shot and become the World Champion. Norman: Yes, I understand. You are not the NAWA World Champion, haven't been in 18 months. You haven't won many big time matches. So, Jeff, stay out of my match with Daniels. I can beat him on my own and I don't need your help. I will prove that honor wins all the time.

In the Interview Area:

Chris Cruise is standing backstage with Lenny Lane.

Cruise: I am backstage with Lenny Lane. Lenny, why did you attack the Gambler last week on Glory.

Lenny: Why? I'll tell you why Cruise. The Gambler seems to be declared the savior of the NAWA. He hasn't earned anything. It has been a series of lucky circumstances that has landed him in the popularity that he is in today. Sure he won War Games, but he just beat Disco Inferno. All of his so called big victories have been against guys like Disco Inferno, Shawn Stasiak, and Mike Sanders. Not exactly the most impressive stars in wrestling, is it Gambler. He is a sham and I am going to expose him as such when I wrestle him at Truth or Consequences.

Cruise: If I remember rightly, he did beat you last week...

Lenny: That was a lucky, one in a million fluke. See when you put in the Gambler in the ring with a real wrestler such as Jerry Lynn or Ron Waterman or Shane Douglas, he gets squashed like the inferior jobber that he is. I am going to prove that at Truth or Consequences.
