NAWA Glory Xtra 9/4/05: The Unholy Alliances

Tonight, sixteen NAWA megastars, eight tag teams fight in three rounds of tag team action. The winning team at the end of the night faces off for the number one contendership for the NAWA World Title at The End of Days. Also the NAWA World Champion Miles Stylish will join us on commentary for the night to find out as we do who he will face off against at the End of Days.

Unholy Alliances First Round Match: Bryan Danielson and Homicide(w/Julius Smokes) vs. Tony Mamaluke(w/Larry Sweeney) and Sederick Skyhawk(w/Candace Sweet, Richard Ramos Ricardo Attorney, At Law, and Mr. Fernando)

Danielson and Mamaluke start out as both men fought in the finals of the Gold Rush tournament. They trade chops with Danielson getting the better of the exchange, wringing out the arm and delivering some elbowsmashes, before making the tag to Homicide. Homicide enters the ring, firing some jabs to Mamaluke before bringing him down with a back elbow smash and a pair of elbowdrops which set up a senton for a two count. Homicide is cooking as he whips Mamaluke into the ropes. Unfortunately the head is ducked and Rocker Dropper. Mamaluke works over and tag to Skyhawk. Double suplex by Mamaluke and Skyhawk and Skyhawk drops some elbows, before choking away at Homicide. Homicide is beaten in the corner and when Skyhawk distracts the referee, Mamaluke chokes Homicide with the tag rope. Homicide staggers around and Skyhawk kneelifts him. Elbows to the back of the head sets up a DDT for a two count. Skyhawk pounds away at Homicide and side waistlock into a backbreaker. Mamaluke connects with a slingshot legdrop as he is tagged in. A two and a half count.

Mamaluke pounds Homicide with chops, uppercuts, before he delivers a kneelift setting up with the rolling snap suplexes into a brain buster, right into a guillotine choke. Homicide fights out after two and a half arm drops. CRADLE DDT DRILLS MAMALUKE ONTO HIS HEAD! What a counter from Homicide as he rolls to the corner. Skyhawk is tagged in but so is Danielson who enters the ring, jabbing away at Skyhawk, beating him down with an elbowsmash. Rolling elbow smash catches Mamaluke in the face as he tries to enter the ring and running Yakuza Kick to a kneeling Skyhawk. Danielso hoists up Skyhawk and three rolling double underhook suplexes for a nearfall. Danielson sets up Skyhawk but Ricardo is on the ring apron. Ricardo is knocked off and Skyhawk catches Danielson with a spinebuster bomb. Jack-knife cradle for a nearfall is countered into a backslide from Danileson no Skyhawk flips to his feet where Danielson catches him with a small package for the pin!

Bryan Danielson and Homicide defeated Sederick Skyhawk and Tony Mamaluke when Danielson pinned Skyhawk after a small package in 0:09:56. Rating: *** 1/2

Homicide and Danielson get the win over Skyhawk and Mamaluke and advance to the next round of the Unholy Alliances Tournament. There is still a long way to go but they get off to a good start.

Unholy Alliances Tournament First Round Match: Jerry Lynn and Raven vs. Low-Ki and Rhino

Low-Ki and Rhino have a bit of heat to start, as Low-Ki trades holds with Lynn and Low-Ki fires some kicks to Lynn at the bell and nice leaping kick but Rhino enters the ring and Low-Ki turns around, kicking Rhino in the head. He attacks his own partner. More kicks from Low-Ki rocking Rhino but Rhino comes back with a clothesline. Raven just stands on the apron, shrugging his shoulders as Rhino backs off. GORE MURDERS LOW-KI! Low-Ki is snapped in half and Lynn picks him up, kneelift sets up the Cradle Piledriver for the acedemic pin as Rhino stalks to the back!

Jerry Lynn and Raven defeated Rhino and Low-Ki when J. Lynn pinned Low-Ki with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:03:00. Rating: ** 3/4

Raven and Lynn get the win, as Lynn looks pleased, he is just three more wins away from another shot at the NAWA World Championship and Miles Stylish. But don't count Raven out, he wants that NAWA World Championship back as well.

Ron Killings(w/Larry Sweeney) and AJ Styles vs. Twizted Youth and Samoa Joe Youth stands on the ring apron as Joe starts out with Killings. Killings jabs away at Joe and leaping leg lariat knocks Joe down for a one count. Stomps by Killings and kneelift but Joe pops up to murder Killings with a lariat. Stomps to Killings and kneedrop to the chest, before Joe throws Killings into the corner. Out of the corner into a belly to back suplex. Killings has been driven down onto the back of his head and Joe pounds him but Killings quickly tags in Styles. Styles is taken off guard but Killings slingshots Styles into the ring, right at the feet of Samoa Joe, who stomps Styles. The crowd is booing, except for some fans who is chanting that Joe will kill Styles. Joe delivers a double power bomb on Styles, before delivering one more into the corner, vicious running Yakuza Kick to the head and setting up Styles for the Muscle Buster. Joe rushes and knocks Killings off the ring apron into the guardrail to make sure he does not interfere before he covers Styles for the pin.

Twizted Youth and Samoa Joe defeated Ron Killings and AJ Styles when Joe pinned Styles after a Muscle Buster in 0:06:01. Rating: ** 1/4

Samoa Joe and Twizted Youth advance in the Unholy Alliances Tournament. Killings gets into the ring, to get a piece of AJ Styles but Joe attacks Killings as well, before beating him down. Killings attempts to fight back but a kick to the face staggers him before Joe hoists Killings up and drills him down with the Muscle Buster. Joe leaves, with Youth walking behind him. So far, Samoa Joe has proven his dominance so far, even with his partner in the Unholy Alliances Tournament.

The Gambler makes his way down to the ring for the next match in the Unholy Alliances Tournament. SCOTT STEINER SMASHES THE LEAD PIPE RIGHT ACROSS THE BACK OF THE HEAD OF THE GAMBLER! The Gambler crumples down into a heap as Scott Steiner is attacking his own partner, ramming a series of pipe shots over and over again into the chest of the Gamber. Scott Steiner scoops up the Gambler, walking over, before ramming him backfirst into the ringpost and STEINER DRILLS THE GAMBLER WITH A FALLAWAY SLAM SMASHING THE GAMBLER INTO THE RING STEPS! The Gambler is crumpled onto the steps and Scott Steiner throws the Gambler into the ring, before applying the Steiner Recliner. The Gambler is struggling against the grip of Steiner. Steiner is punishing the Gambler but Teddy Hart runs from the back and springboards to the top rope. SPRINGBOARD DROPKICK SENDS SCOTT STEINER TO THE FLOOR! Hart leaps onto Steiner, punching away at him but the damage has been dne as Christopher Daniels enters the ring, with Desdomia following closely behind.

Daniels covers the broken form of the Gambler and scores the pin.

Scott Steiner is lead up the ramp, yelling at Hart and Hart looks into the ring with an accusing look on his face but Daniels waves it off, as if saying "we won, so what?" The first round of the Unholy Alliances Tournament has concluded with Bryan Danielson, Homicide, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Twizted Youth, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Teddy Hart into the NAWA World Title hunt.

Unholy Alliances Second Round Match Homicide and Bryan Danielson vs. Raven and Jerry Lynn

Homicide starts out with Lynn. Both men trade headlocks and hammerlocks but Homicide delivers a series of forearms, knocking Lynn back into the corner. Lynn staggers and Homicide whips Lynn into the ropes. Flying clothesline knocks Lynn down to the canvas. Lynn staggers to his feet and Homicide pounds away at Lynn, jabbing away at him. Inverted Atomic Drop doubles Lynn over and Homicide delivers a swinging neckbreaker. Kneedrop drilled Lynn across the chest and tag made to Bryan Danielson. Irish whip into the ropes and double hiptoss. Danielson wrings out the arm, pounding away at it with elbows and armbar takedown but Lynn rolls out, chopping away at Danielson, before hooking him, before bringing him down with a reverse neckbreaker. Tag made to Raven and Raven enters the ring, kicking Danielson ino the midsection, before knocking him down with a clothesline. Raven whips Danielson into the corner and back elbowsmash in the corner. Attempted running bulldog but Danielson counters with a belly to back suplex.

Raven has been suplexed backwards onto his head and Danielson drops an elbow to the head of Raven. Another elbow driven to the head of Raven. Stomps rocks Raven and Danielson delivers a front facelock, knee strikes to the face and brain buster brings Raven down. Tag made to Homicide and slingshot senton for a two count. Homicide pounds away at Raven, delivering a series of forearms, whipping him into the ropes. Flapjack brings Raven down to the canvas and pair of elbows driven to the back of the head. Tag made to Danielson and Homicide holds Raven and Danielson kicks him, before delivering elbows. Irish whip into the ropes sets up a high knee, a pair of elbows, some stomps, and an arm grapevine. Raven is punished but gets in the ropes. Danielson pounds away at the back of the neck of Raven and double underhook suplex brings him down. Tag made to Homicide and Homicide climbs to the top rope. Frog Splash by Homicide on Raven. Cover for a two and three fourths count.

Homicide rakes away at Raven, pounding away at Raven, before throwing him into the corner. Running knee to the head and snap mare brings Raven down. Jumping neck snap puts Raven down to the canvas and Homicide pounds away at Raven, before going for a brain buster. Dropped down and Raven delivers a reverse thrust kick drills Homicide down to the canvas. Raven staggers to the corner. Tag to Danielson and tag to Jerry Lynn. Lynn enters the ring a house of fire, knocking down both men. Chops rattle both men and Lynn throws Danielson into the corner. Waistlock and German Suplex brings Danielson down to the canvas. Lynn covers Danielson for a two and a half count. Kneelift drills Danielson in the face and Lynn runs up the buckles, before planting Danielson with a Tornado DDT. Lynn covers Danielson hooking the leg for a two and three fourths count when Homicide makes the save with a kneedrop to the back of the head.

Raven steps into the ring and forearms drill Homicide, before he is dumped to the floor. Danielson is on his feet and kicks to Lynn, followed by elbows driven to the side of the head. He steps back and goes for a rolling elbow smash. This was the same move that beat Lynn at WrestleClash IV but Lynn ducks the move. Dropkick takes Danielson down and Lynn picks up Danielson, before drilling a kneelift to the chest of Danielson. Lynn hooks Danielson and hoists him up, before bringing him down with the Cradle Piledriver. Cover hooking the leg as Raven holds off Homicide on the floor for the pin.

Raven and Jerry Lynn defeated Homicide and Bryan Danielson when J. Lynn pinned Danielson with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:17:10. Rating: **** 1/4

Lynn and Raven have advanced to the next round of the tournament, the final match in the tag team portion of the tournament. Homicide enters the ring and Danielson gets up, looking rather irritated that he lost. He wonders why Homicide did not make the save and both men get face to face with each other. The crowd is getting into it as Homicide finally has it and decks Danielson, drilling him with a forearm smash. Danielson gets on his feet and HOMICIDE DECKS HIM WITH A LARIAT. Homicide picks up Danielson, beating him down, before hoisting him up. Cop Killa drills Danielson down to the canvas. Homicide takes Danielson's NAWA Cruiserweight Title Belt, holding it over his head, before dropping it down onto the chest of Danielson, leaving him laying in the center of the ring.

Twizted Youth and Samoa Joe vs. Teddy Hart and Christopher Daniels(w/Desdomia) Hart and Joe start out with Hart managing to duck around a couple of challenges, before delivering a pair of armdrags and a monkey flip. Joe bounces up to his feet and unloads at Hart with a lariat. The crowd boos as Joe stomps at Hart, before applying a cross-face submission hold, cranking on the hold. Daniels breaks the hold with a kneedrop to the back of the head. Jabs to the throat but Joe fights back, knocking Daniels to the floor. Hart climbs to the outside and flying dropkick drills Joe and then a standing shooting star press scored a one and a half count. Hart pounds away at Joe and gets a Swinging DDT. Joe staggers to his feet and Hart dropkicks Joe, right into an inadvertant tag to Twizted Youth. Youth pumps his fist into the air, entering the ring but Daniels drops Joe to the floor with a clothesline and suddenly the Archangels of Anarchy are outside. Joe fights them off as Youth goes for a kick but Hart catches it and dragon screw right into the Sharpshooter. Hart leans back on the hold as Joe attacks Armageddon and Destruction. He tries to enter the ring but DANIELS DIVES OVER THE TOP ROPE ONTO JOE WITH A TOPE CON HILO TO STOP JOE FROM SAVING. Youth taps out and Daniels and Hart advances into the next round.

Teddy Hart and Christopher Daniels defeated Twizted Youth and Samoa Joe when Teddy Hart made Youth submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:05:12. Rating: ** 1/2

Teddy Hart and Christopher Daniels advance to the final tag team round of the Unholy Alliances Tournament to face off against Jerry Lynn and Raven. Once again, Christopher Daniels manipulated the circumstances slightly so he could advance and Hart looks at him but their hands are raised into the air as Joe is escorted to the back, with an ugly scowl on his face.

Unholy Alliances Semifinal Match Teddy Hart and Christopher Daniels vs. Jerry Lynn and Raven Daniels starts out against Raven. No love loss between these two men as they trade punches, backing each other off into the ropes. Raven connects with a clothesline, sending Daniels to the floor, before he brings him into the railing with a Russian Legsweep, with some stomps and a knee strike. Raven throws Daniels into the ring and double axe handle connects. Kneelift and Raven whips Daniels into the ropes. Uppercut staggers Raven and tag to Teddy Hart. Both of these men are tag team partners but tonight they are on opposite sides. They trade chops, neither may giving anything up as Raven is whipped into the ropes. Leapfrog, spin kick, and somersault elbowdrop for a two count. Hart pounds away at Raven, connecting with a snap suplex. Raven is pulled up into a Russian Legsweep for a two count. Stomps and leaping kneedrop, before delivering a backflip splash for another nearfall. Hart tags in Daniels who is on the top rope and flying elbowdrop down onto the chest of Raven for a two and a half count!

Daniels batters Raven, chops set up a throat jab and a vicious Rocker Dropper drills Raven facefirst into the canvas. Raven is dragged into the corner and Daniels pounds him, before making the tag to Teddy Hart. Hoisted up and Hart delivers a missile dropkick as Daniels slams Raven down with a spinebuster. Cover but Raven will not stay down. Hart pounds away at Raven and running bulldog scores a nearfall. Backbreaker and elbowdrop off the second rope but Raven will not stay down. Inverted bulldog off the second rope and Hart goes for the Sharpshooter but turned over into the ropes. Hart stomps Raven and leaping kneedrop and Daniels is tagged in. Chops rock Raven and jumping clothesline brings him down for a nearfall. Spin kick and Raven is set up. Vicious brain buster and Daniels could go for the cover but he instead goes to the top rope facing the crowd. Best Moonsault Ever no RAVEN ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!

Daniels has the wind knocked out of him but tag made to Teddy Hart and tag made to Lynn, who enters the ring, chopping through Hart like a hot knife through butter. Hart is staggered back and Lynn brings him down with a short arm clothesline. Short arm clothesline to Daniels and Lynn rushes over, drilling Hart with a kneelift before cradling him. VICIOUS FISHERMAN BUSTER BRINGS HART DOWN! Only a two and a half count and Lynn pounds away at Hart, chopping and forearms, before delivering an elevated belly to back suplex. Tornado DDT is set up but Daniels pulls Lynn off at a two and a half count and jab to the throat. Raven enters the ring attacking Daniels as Lynn delivers a jumping neck snap to Hart. Hart is set up for the Cradle Piledriver as Raven swings for Daniels but Daniels side steps it and LYNN GETS HIT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. Lynn crumples down and Daniels spin kicks Raven to the floor. Baseball slide into the guardrail and Hart puts Lynn in a rolling cradle to score the pin! Hart and Daniels will go one on one for the NAWA World Title Shot at the End of Days.

Teddy Hart and Christopher Daniels defeated Jerry Lynn and Raven when Teddy Hart pinned J. Lynn after a rolling cradle in 0:16:36. Rating: **** 1/2

Christopher Daniels and Teddy Hart had advanced to the finals of the Unholy Alliances Tournament and that match is next, after this time out on Glory.

Neither man wastes any time in this match, trading a series of holds that lead to a number of close finishes for both men. Hart gains the advantage with a series of forearms and a running dropkick which knocks Daniels over the top rope and to the arena floor. Plancha delivered to Daniels and Hart pounds away at him before throwing Daniels into the ring. Shoulder block and slingshot sunset flip for a two count. Hart kicks away at Daniels and short arm clothesline. Three elbows dropped and dropkick to the face of Daniels. Hart picks up Daniels and rams him into the corner. Chops rock Daniels, throwing him into the corner. Belly to back suplex brings Daniels to the canvas and Hart goes to the outside. Slingshot senton but Daniels rolls out of the way. Hart braces his fall and Daniels pops up and jabs him right into the throat.

The crowd is booing as Daniels continues to beat down Hart, rocking him into the corner with chops and jabs, before delivering a running kick to the face. Scooped up and Hart is dropped down on the top rope. Hart staggers forward into a spin kick and Daniels covers for a two count. Knee driven to the face and snap suplex before Daniels delivers a legdrop. Another two count and Daniels pounds on Hart. Gutwrench into a modified falcon arrow for a nearfall. The crowd is booing as Daniels whips Hart into the ropes. Frankensteiner off the ropes and Daniels quickly leaps to the middle rope, coming down with an Asai Moonsault for another two count. Daniels picks up Hart and jabs him in the throat. Another jab to the throat and Daniels whips Hart into the corner. Corner clothesline and Daniels hooks Hart, before bringing him down with a brain buster. Hart stands on his head before flopping down onto the canvas. Two and a half count.

Daniels lifts up Hart and rakes his face. Jabs to the chest of Hart and he is slumped into the corner. Spin kick and kneedrop, before Daniels goes to the outside. Springboard kneedrop drills Hart right on the top of the head. Hart spasms underneath the impact of Daniels and Daniels covers. Nearfall and forearms to the back, along with headbutts to the back of the head. High angle belly to back suplex and Daniels goes to the outside. Springboard legdrop drilled down across the chest of Hart for a two count. Daniels picks up Hart and chops him some more, before whipping him into the ropes. Knee to the midsection and Daniels delivers a hangman's neckbreaker. Another nearfall. Daniels stomps away at Hart and backbreaker before he climbs to the top rope. Best Moonsault Ever no Hart kips up and runs up the ropes. GERMAN SUPLEX OFF THE TOP ROPE SENDS DANIELS CRASHING DOWN ONTO THE BACK OF HIS HEAD! The crowd is cheering, with the standing ten count and Hart rolls over at nine and a half for a two and three nines count.

Hart drills a kneedrop to the face of Daniels and throws him into the corner. Running dropkick drills Daniels on the face and snap suplex brings Daniels to the canvas. Hart picks up Daniels and Russian Legsweep, followed by a backbreaker, and then an elbowdrop off the second rope. These moves score a two and a half count and Hart picks Daniels up, putting him on the top rope. To the top rope goes both men and HART SUPERPLEXES DANIELS OFF THE TOP ROPE! The crowd is cheering as Hart floats over for a nearfall. To the outside and springboard 450 Splash from Hart but another another nearfall. Hart picks up Daniels and dragon screw. Headbutt to the midsection and attempted Sharpshooter but Daniels kicks him off into the ropes. Jab to the throat connects and Daniels goes for the Angel's Wings but Hart counters with a catapult. Daniels hits the corner and Hart leaps on the shoulders, before bringing Daniels down with a Victory Roll for a nearfall!

Daniels goes for a spin kick but Hart pivots underneath. Monkey flip by Hart no wait he hangs on and falls back, impacting both of his knees into the ribs of Daniels. Almost like some kind of modified gutbuster and Oklahoma Side Roll delivered to Daniels for a nearfall. Hart dropkicks Daniels in the face and sets him up. Stepping through and Sharpshooter is applied. The crowd is cheering, the Sharpshooter is locked on. Hart could be going for the End of Days no Daniels releases the hold and it must be broken. Daniels is up and kick. DDT drills Daniels down and Hart climbs to the outside. He's going for the Hart Attack and leaps off. Daniels moves but Hart lands on his feet, dropkicking Daniels in the face. Sharpshooter attempt is blocked with an eye rake and Daniels whips Hart into the ropes. Back elbow smash is ducked and Hart delivers a running kneelift, before hooking Daniels. Suplex is countered into the Last Rites from Daniels! Hart has been snapped down and Daniels covers to score the pin! Daniels has won the 2005 Unholy Alliances Tournament!

The crowd is booing as Christopher Daniels has won the Unholy Alliances Tournament. It was obvious they would have liked to see Teddy Hart win but now its Christopher Daniels squaring off for the NAWA World Title against Miles Stylish at the End of Days, October 2nd only on Pay Per View.
