Shoot Interview with "Fabolous" Paul Regal

by John Lynch

The following is my interview with the wrestler known as "Fabolous" Paul Regal...

NGW Online: Fabolous Paul Regal, welcome and how are you doing?

"Fabolous" Paul Regal: I am doing alright. Hey, remember, I won the street fight.

NGWO: I would like to touch on that first. Paul, how difficult was it to pull a great match like that with it being the first hardcore match in NGW's history?

PR: I didn’t even know my match with Hardbody Hibbert was going to be a Street Fight. I was supposed to have it at Mutiny but I was injured so Commissioner Jon Miller made it that night. It wasn’t that difficult because I come from P' Ville. In P' Ville you have to watch out for what’s best, yourself. So I did what I do best, put pain on someone else. The Street Fight is my thing.

NGWO: Evan Blaze and The Redneck both stated this week that your match was in the top 5 matches in NGW's history. Considering some of the matches that have taken place, how do you feel about that statement?

PR: I feel that…well how would any one feel if their match was one of the Top 5 of NGW history. There were some other great matches like the Hypothermia match, I feel really good about being in the Top 5 and only being in NGW for a short while.

NGWO: What was the first thing you remember about wrestling that made you want to wrestle?

PR: What got me into wrestling was seeing to people beat the hell out of each other. I was always in fights back home in P' Ville so I figured y not make a profession out of it.

NGWO: What were your first thoughts about Next Generation Wrestling when you first saw the setup and met the other wrestlers?

PR: I thought there are very talented backstage personnel. The set up is great, THE BEST IN BACKYARD HISTORY, while others have their sheds as their entrance we have a real one that took time and looks great.

NGWO: You first match was at a major show, NGW Mutiny, and was a table match against Pat Karnage. He was considered the brutal wrestler on the roster at that point. How did you adjust to the heat in July and his technique?

PR: No doubt about it. It was hot. Like that song I just rolled with the punches, I took them and gave them, and it was difficult wrestling with him in that heat, I am not going to lie. I didn’t think he was that brutal.... until he lost or you pissed him off.

NGWO: Where do you think "Fabolous" Paul Regal will be by the end of 2004?

PR: in the end of 2004 I think I will be the World Champion or at least the US Champion.

NGWO: Speaking of the US Title, you made it to the finals of the tournament at SnoBrawl. How did you like SnoBrawl’s’ matches and results?

PR: I thought SnoBrawl was the best show we have had this year. We had great matches. One thing I didn’t like was loosing to the Redneck, The Referee has to learn to get down and count when I pin the Redneck. I had him down for 3 so many times but he just didn’t count.

NGWO: Where do you think your possible storyline with the United States Title will take you?

PR: I see a feud with whoever has the title. Right now it’s the Redneck (Sadly) and I am going to hunt him down till I beat him and take what is rightfully mine.

NGWO: Who would be your favorite wrestler and why?

PR: That is a dumb question but look who asked it. John Cena, cause he can make people look like a dumbass no matter who they are. Plus he is one strong motherfucker for someone from West Newbury, Massachusetts.

NGWO: Word Association time. Tell me in one short sentence how you feel about these wrestlers. Thor?

PR: Developing.

NGWO: Hardbody Hibbert?

PR: Good competitor.

NGWO: Evan Blaze?

PR: Champion.

NGWO: And your rival, The Redneck?

PR: Great wrestler but he’s going down.

NGWO: Where do you see NGW at the end of 2004?

PR: THE BEST BACKYARD FED IN SOUTH JERSEY AND IN 2005, THE BEST IN NEW JERSEY!

NGWO: What is a match and with whom would you like to be in this year?

PR: I want to be in a Falls Count Anywhere match with The Redneck or a Battle Royal with Thor, The Redneck, and Harvey "Hardbody" Hibbert.

NGWO: How do you feel the NGW is being run as of this date?

PR: Not to insult the backstage workers but I think we need to have a back-up plan just incase something doesn't pull through. SnoBrawl was a big example. If u were there you will know what I am talking about.

NGWO: What are your expectations for Next Generation Wrestling's Revolution March 13th?

PR: My expectations are for everything to run smoothly and to have another great show like SnoBrawl.

NGWO: Finally, is there anything you would like to say to your NGW fans?

PR: To all my homies out there, come and check out our shows. Even if you’re not a fan of me or even wrestling come out and check it out. It is a great show and you won’t be disappointed. Also I am looking for new competition to beat and if you’re up for it call our commissioner Jon Miller to wrestle for NGW and maybe one day you will be good enough to wrestle me.....
