News & Notes for Week of January 4th by: Jon E. Wrestler Happy New Year, I hope everyone had a very happy holidays. This could be the most important news and notes in a long time so here we go. First, on January 17th at 6pm, the first show in over 2 months and the first show of the new year will take place as NGW SnoBrawl will hit with a massive blow to backyard wrestling. This is the largest card the NGW's history with six matches. To further escalate the importance of the show, one title will be defended, and another will be created and won! In the first ever "Hypothermia Match" in wrestling (pro & backyard) history, Evan Blaze will take on The Redneck in what will be remembered for a long time. The US Championship will be decided as a 4-man tournament will take place to crown the first ever champ for this division. The Redneck will wrestle Thor and Hardbody Hibbert will wrestle "Fabolous" Paul Regal with the winners fighting for the title. The Heavyweight Championship will be defended by Evan Blaze as he tries to retain the title against his stiffest opponent yet, Hardbody Hibbert. This could be the first show that so many storylines have come to a head. In the US title tournament, The Redneck must be reeling after a loss to Thor a couple months back which propelled Thor into the tournament. Also Hardbody Hibbert is the man who injured Paul Regal right before Exile, Regal must be looking for revenge. And, of course, a Hypothermia Match for the possible end of the most storied rivalries in NGW history! Evan Blaze and The Redneck have had two of the three if not three of the three greatest matches the NGW Arena has seen and on the 17th we could be witnessing another classic, this time in the snow. This is an I Quit match to an extreme, extreme cold! This is also the first major show in which all wrestlers are healthy. This is a show that will be remembered for a long time to come. You will notice that Fury is written in the left column. This will be the link to the house show results from now on. News & Notes for Week of January 18th by: Jon E. Wrestler OK we will start by saying this was the absolute best show in the short history of Next Generation Wrestling. Every match came through and no one disappointed. Catch the results here. First thing to talk about were the United States Title semifinal matches. The Redneck defeating Thor was an excellent match even working through the top rope snapping within the first minute of the match. The other semifinal was amazing and showcased the street fight fans didn't receive at Exile between Hardbody Hibbert and Paul Regal. Both title matches were very good and saw probably the sickest chair shot I have ever seen from Evan Blaze to Hardbody Hibbert. The redneck also proved he is high caliber by defeating Paul Regal after the middle rope broke. And finally, the hypothermia match saw two of the highlights of the night in a spinebuster off of the apron through a table from Evan Blaze to The Redneck landing in ice cold snow. Secondly, what ending The Redneck's run was a freezing cold pitcher of water thrown at The Redneck and froze to him. Awesome show with the best attendance, crowd noise, entrances and matches in the history of NGW and the best I've seen in backyard wrestling in south jersey ever, hands down. In injury notes, The Redneck popped a disc in his back during his Hypothermia Match. That added to a sprained ankle he sustained practicing the week before SnoBrawl. Two major future shows to announce fairly early. NGW announced it's March major show will be called Revolution. That will take place on March 13th. And the NGW One Year Anniversary show will be held on April 11th. Both will be big shows. See upcoming shows here. Lastly, the Eagles lost so, I am sad. Go Birds...next year.
