News & Notes for Week of February 1st by: Mike Hawk Hey everyone, Jon E. Wrestler has retired from doing the News & Notes so I will be taking over the article from now on. The face of Next Generation Wrestling has changed slightly from May 2003 to now, but the largest changed could be coming in the next two months. I can not say right now as to who and what will come into Atlantic County but it will definitely affect NGW. It will most likely affect NGW Revolution, March 13th in Estell Manor, NJ. To determine who will wrestle at Revolution however, February 21st's house show will be a big factor. Paul Regal will face Thor for the right to face The Redneck at Revolution. Also on February 21st, the number one contendership will be on the line in a Backyard Blitz match, that means last man left in the ring wins a shot at the World Championship at Revolution, and any wrestler in the world is allowed to enter! The only bit of info that is left out is that Evan Blaze is in this match also, and if he wins he does not have to defend his title at Revolution. Some quick dates to remember are March 13th (NGW Revolution) and April 10th (One Year Anniversary Show). Plans are in the works for NGW to travel to a couple different areas so that our fans can have more access to Next Generation Wrestling! As early as this summer, NGW may be in Egg Harbor Township, Mays Landing, Vineland and Wildwood. So keep a check in News & Notes for new info on that. Last but not least, a Super Show for all of New Jersey backyard wrestling is now being planned and will be hosted most likely by none other than Next Generation Wrestling. This would almost be like a New Jersey convention of all the backyard wrestlers in this states scene! A date has not been set but the event will not be before Revolution. More news will be available in the next news & notes on that. News & Notes for Week of February 15th by: Mike Hawk The biggest news is the condition of The Redneck. He recently had cat scans done on his neck to determine what kind of damage he had sustained as of late. The doctors informed him that he would no longer be able to wrestle unless tests came back absolutely perfect. He is scheduled to see a doctor early march. As for wrestling, The Redneck will vacate the NGW United States Title at Revolution and there will be a new champion crowned. Hopefully, he can recover soon. The most recent piece of news is on February 21st, the number one contendership will be on the line in a Backyard Blitz match, that means last man left in the ring wins a shot at the World Championship at Revolution, and any wrestler in the world is allowed to enter! The only bit of info that is left out is that Evan Blaze is in this match also, and if he wins he does not have to defend his title at Revolution. At Revolution, March 13th at 6PM, there will be an Us vs. Them aspect as Long Valley Backyard Wrestling is slated to appear. The card is as follows: Main Event: NGW vs. LVBW in a 4-on-4 Survivor Series rumble! Team NGW Evan Blaze (NGW World Champ) "Fabolous" Paul Regal "Hardbody" Hibbert Thor Team LVBW Alex Prime (LVBW World Champ) Chris Maverick Kannibus Homie Bonez NGW World Championship: Evan Blaze (c) vs. "Hardbody" Hibbert vs. Alex Prime NGW United States Championship Final: "Fabolous" Paul Regal vs. Thor vs. The Two Winners of the First Round Matches NGW United States Championship Tournament First Round: Chris Maverick vs. Kannibus "The Shark" Simon Spiegel vs. Homie Bonez Some quick dates to remember are March 13th (NGW Revolution) and April 10th (One Year Anniversary Show). News & Notes for Week of February 29th by: Mike Hawk Before the two important stories right now we need to announce two things in the future. WrestleStock 2004 will take place on Saturday May 29th and will feature the 5 top backyard wrestling federations in New Jersey. This is like an all-star game for backyard wrestling. Already 22 wrestlers are scheduled and more are expected to join. Also, a response to NCW will be written shortly as an article on NGW Online. They are the assholes who are trying to form a national backyard wrestling alliance under their name. The Redneck is scheduled to see doctors Thursday, March 4th for his injury. Electrodes will be used to determine any nerve damage and doctors still need to determine the cause of the injury. Earlier this year it is thought that Redneck injured himself in the Hypothermia Match versus Evan Blaze but that has been ruled out. More information will be presented in early March on his condition. The buzz around NGW today is the clash that will happen at NGW Revolution, live March 13th at the NGW Arena. At Revolution, Long Valley Backyard Wrestling will attempt to do what no backyard federation has been able to, defeat Next Generation Wrestling. The most exciting part about this event is that LVBW is, like NGW, very talented and with the matches lined up will be the biggest event so far in NGW's short history. As NGW is, we always invent something in the wrestling industry. At SnoBrawl in January, we had the first ever Hypothermia Match. At Revolution, we will have the first ever Dog Kennel Cage Match, with Hardbody Hibbert issuing an open challenge. Also, the NGW United States Championship will be decided once again in a tournament due to The Redneck stepping down as champ due to his injury. There are only 2 NGW wrestlers entered in this 6 man tournament so hopefully we will be able to bring the title home. Now the event gets really interesting. In the precursor to the main event, the NGW World Championship will be put on the line as Evan Blaze takes on Alex Prime from LVBW. This will be the first opportunity anyone outside of NGW has received. Alex Prime is the LVBW World Champion and this is sure to be the first of many meetings between the two. What would happen if LVBW won the NGW World Championship? In the main event, the 4 top NGW superstars will take on LVBW's top wrestlers in a 4-on-4 survivor series match for pride in what has become a battle between two of New Jersey's top backyard wrestling promotions. North face South as LVBW is trying to ensure their place in NJ backyarding today. At Revolution, March 13th at 6PM, there will be an Us vs. Them aspect as Long Valley Backyard Wrestling is slated to appear. Click the banner for the card. This page was last updated on 02/23/05. |
