Assault starts with Ego Trip members picking their entry numbers into the rumble. Bernardo picks a great number which he does not reveal and then starts flirting with Jessica White. Ringo takes Bernardo’s number ball out of his pocket and switches it with his. Aries doesn’t seem happy with his number either and switches with Bernardo. Roberts does the same and Bernardo turns around and tells the boys that they will be surprised at his entry number not knowing he has the worse one now. As they walk away Bernardo mumbles “motherfu….” as he looks at his ball
The SIW Championship is on the line is the first match as world tag team champion Chris Macavedi takes on “The Living Dead” Duane Doogan. Trevor gets booed as he announces that Matt Uzi will be banned from the match and the whole event. As soon as the bell rings, Doogan strikes C-Mac and knees him in the stomach. Doogan whips him into the corner and misses a corner clothesline. C-Mac delivers a gore and covers but only gets a two count. C-Mac applies the SWTF in the middle of the ring but Doogan fights the pain long enough to reach the ropes. Doogan kicks C-Mac in his ribs and chokes him in the corner. Trevor gets in the apron and starts shouting at Doogan. The champion confronts the CEO and hits him with a chop to his throat and he falls off the apron face first. C-Mac attacks Doogan from behind and delivers an Italian leg sweep. After stomping Doogan several times, C-Mac goes to the top rope to deliver a high risk maneuver but as he launches with a big elbow Doogan moves out of the way. Doogan whips him to the ropes and delivers a spine buster. The referee is knocked down late in the match that’s when JD Xtreme makes his surprise comeback and jumps off the security wall with a corkscrew moonsault and lands on Trevor. JD slides in the ring with a folded steel chair and goes to level C-Mac but he moves out of the way and Doogan tastes the steel instead. C-Mac slides over for a cover and wins the match. Trevor levels JD with a low blow and he’s ambushed by C-Mac and Trevor until Doogan comes to his senses and cleans house. Doogan looks at JD on the canvas and decides to execute a DooganDT for costing him the heavyweight championship
Former SIW tag team champions Maurice Bad and Sonny Smith pick numbers 14 and 22 respectively. Asylum’s night will be longer as he picks number 4
An advertisement was shown for Meltdown on February 24, 2008 featuring all the top Carnage stars live from the Xcel Energy Center in St-Paul, Minneapolis
Duane Doogan is interviewed by Jack Kent but Doogan scares him away with the look on his face alone. Doogan tells JD that he made a big mistake sticking his nose in his business tonight. Whether or not he did it on purpose, he will pay with his soul. Doogan shocks the fans as he announces his entry in the Assault Rumble tonight. The night gets even worse for the “Living Dead” as he’s officially the first participant to enter at #1
Both the SIW European championship and the EBW Championship are on the line as The Renegade takes on Grunge. Before the match, they both tell their women to stay backstage tonight because it will be too violent as they both agreed to a barbed wired table match. Renegade draws first blood after smashing Grunge’s skull on a monitor on the Spanish table and then whips him into the steel post. Renegade pulls out a ladder from under the ring and levels Grunge in the side of his head. Renegade then places the ladder on the Spanish table and then climbs to the top. Grunge gets up and tips the ladder and Renegade falls into the crowd. The fans start a “holy shit” chant as Renegade lays motionless on the concrete ground. Renegade gets up before ten and nails Grunge with a low blow. Renegade throws Grunge over the security wall and pulls out a barbed wired table and a barbed wired 2 x 4. Renegade strikes Grunge across his back with the 2 x 4 several times drawing more blood and then levels him with a clothesline. Renegade sets up the table but before doing anything, he pulls out a 30 foot ladder and starts climbing to but Grunge follows right to the top. They exchange lefts and rights until Grunge gets the upperhand and delivers a suplex from the top of the ladder and through the barbed wired table. The fans start another “holy shit” chant and The Renegade does not get up. Grunge suffered severe blood loss and receives medical attention. The Renegade is taken out on a stretcher and an ambulance takes him to the nearest hospital. The latest reports inform us that Renegade is in stable condition
”The Street Soldier” Natedawg is backstage with Krazy J and Jessica White and they pick their rumble entry numbers. Krazy J picks a decent #20 and Natedawg is extremely content with his #29. Natedawg and Krazy J give Jessica their hotel room number and tell her to join them after the show
Envy has one chance at the women’s championship as she takes on Heaven Lee one on one. Envy comes close to victory many times but comes up short in the end as Heaven Lee kicks out of the Green Envy and fights her way back to win the match after delivering Heaven’s Fury and pins her to retain the championship. After the match, the #1 contender for the SIW Women’s championship Xtina comes out and gets into a stare down with Heaven Lee. Xtina shocks the fans as she offers Heaven Lee a handshake and tells her she will see her at Wrestlefest

Sonny Smith, Ashton Daniels, Trevor Derickson, and even Vince Aprali made it for the huge celebration backstage. Chris Macavedi gets a staff member to put the Heavyweight championship around his waist. With the tag title hanging on his shoulder, C-Mac cuts a promo about being the leader of the brand and the only one that can lead Brawl to greatness once again in 2008. The war continues but out of nowhere Ringo drops Smith with the Ringo Bingo. Soule clotheslines Ringo over the top rope but that sneaky Bernardo appears from under the ring with a step ladder that Ringo’s feet land on. Terror Soule eliminates Smith and goes to work on Doogan in the corner. Ringo is back in the match and as Terror is trying to put Doogan over the top rope, Ringo moves in from behind and eliminates Soule. Ringo charges Doogan in the corner but Doogan flips him with an overhead back body drop over the turnbuckles and wins the huge match. The lights go out and purple smoke fills the arena as the show comes to an end
