John Saxon

5'9"
225 lbs

It all started in 1987, when John Saxon began his Pro Wrestling career as a Regional Promoter for the I.W.F in Central Louisiana. While doing that John started to train under "Maniac" Mike Davis. After training for awhile, John still found it difficult to get any bookings, as he was still inexperienced. It also didn't help that the Louisiana's wrestling scene was very bad after the Bill Watts years. John then decided to relocate to Biloxi, MS and did not pursue wrestling again until late 1993. During his off years he played Semi Pro Football. John then heard about a small wrestling school in Gulfport, MS. He started to train there with an unknown group, which was led by a local man, Ken Jeffcoat. When John started there he was one of only two that had any experience. Within the first year, John was traveling to Alabama, Florida, and all over Mississippi. He then started to get alot of help from veterans, like Dusty Wolfe, One Man Gang, Boris Zuckoff, Tommy Rich, Scott & Bob Armstrong, etc... John Saxon was now becoming very sucessful on the Independent Circuit. During this time, John became very good friends with a young up & comer, Kevin Northcutt. They both started working with Mid South Wrestling in south Louisiana in 1994. In 1995, John took his first trip to Mexico with Dusty Wolfe & Kevin Northcutt. This was an excellent opportunity to work with Internaional Stars such as- Vampiro, Norman Smiley, Solomon Grundy, La Parka, El Hijo De Santo. In 1996, John became a partner in Mid South Wrestling. Here he learned booking strategy from many of the old Mid South workers. (Grizzly Smith, JYD, Skandar Akbar). In 1996-97, John and then tag team partner Crazy Joe, had a very good run in Texas, as the Hardtime Express. John also started to do commentary for Mid South Television for about 4 years in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. John then withdrew from Mid South for personal reasons, and to also better pursue wrestling on a broader scale. John then formed another tag team with long-time friend (Full Monty) Rip Steele, known as Simply Sensational. John Saxon is currently wrestling all across the South & Mid West. He and his valet Daneille have been turning heads of late and have recently worked for NWA-TNA.
