The Road To Wrestlefest started as Thursday Night Carnage was live from Denver, Colorado at the Pepsi Center. The program started backstage with newly crowned SIW World Champ and Euro champ Glenn Kirby having a casual conversation with Shelby Kirby. Angel came storming around the corner looking fired up and cracked a smile at the two. Angel took the time to introduce himself to both Kirby’s and the three started a conversation about Titan and his antics. Angel expressed how badly he wanted to even the score with both Titan and Rikki Cook. Shelby asked Angel just what he had in mind. Angel replied with wanting his match against Cook to be an Extreme match and said that he'd make it worth her while. She agreed and Angel got the biggest grin on his face. Angel thanked her and walked on proclaiming he had a lot to do.
The first match of the night was a triple threat diva tag team match between Regina Todd, H-Bomb and Angelica, Liana and Envy, Christina. Next Monday, MNB General Manager Kevin “Titan” McColl will announce a diva tournament with the winner facing Latesha at Wrestlefest 2005. This match showcased all their talents but neither team dominated the other. The match ended after the team of Regina and former SIW Women’s Champion H-Bomb nailed Christina with a Spine buster - Starr Dogg combo. Regina who sported a wig pinned Christina to win the match.
Shelby Kirby made a blockbuster announcement at ringside. She said that at Wrestlefest, the main event will feature a guest referee to be announced next week on Carnage. She told the Denver crowd that no one will be disappointed when they find out who it is.
Metalgod took on Russel McPiledriverton in a Glass Table Match after a promo for Wednesday War. The SIW Extreme Championship was on the line but did not change hands. Metalgod defeated Russel after executing a God Bomb through the Glass Table in the middle of the entrance ramp and pinned him for the win.
Liana Lewis was helping Airington get prepared for his match and then Envy walked in. She didn’t seem to content that Liana was in Airington’s locker room but the SIW Lightweight Champion kept things cool though. Don’t miss this trio as they team up to take on H-Bomb, Regina and Mysery this Saturday in Billings, Montana.
After a commercial break, the next match got underway. James Airington took on Mysery who was accompanied by H-Bomb. James gave him another title shot after Mysery successfully defeated “Powerhouse” Tim Smith last Monday. Airington won the match after he countered a suplex into a DDT and performed the Airington Star Press and pinned him. As Airington celebrated in the ring, The Prophet ran out and helped Mysery beat down Airington. After they were done, Airington was left in a pool of blood as a result from being smacked with the LW title several times busting him wide open. Mike London came out but was too late. Mysery, H-Bomb and The Prophet ran away through the crowd.
The SIW’s Women’s champion Latesha was at ringside and wished all the divas good luck because they were going to need it especially at Wrestlefest. She said that no matter the winner, they would just end up losing to the first ever SIW Women’s champion. Bakckstage, Christina York was looking for the former SIW North American Champion and current SIW Tag Team Champion Ryan Johnson but he couldn't be found anywhere. Apparently he skipped work.
Last Monday, Titan took on Angel in a wrestling match but it was ruined by interference by “Red Hot” Rikki Cook. Rikki was the apparent “insurance policy” and cost Angel the match. On Carnage, Angel was set on revenge in an extreme match. Angel swung purgatory and missed Rikki and hit the time keeper instead. Rikki then whipped him into the commentary table. Near the end, Angel surprised everyone when he pulled out another purgatory from under the ring with Rikki’s named written on it and smashed it over Cook’s head. Angel had the match won and went to pin him but from the crowd, Titan was live on Carnage and he chokeslammed Angel through the Spanish table. Titan put Rikki’s beat up body over Angel’s and won the match by pin fall.
Shelby was clearly upset at MNB General Manager Titan ruining a match on her show and was on the phone with Trevor Derickson. She left a message then one half of the SIW Tag Team Champions David Von Ramrock walked in her office and closed the door behind him. The meeting had something to do with his involvement at Wrestlefest. At the same time, Mohamed Abdul Sheik challenged Glenn Kirby to a match sometime next week. He said if he accepted his challenge and won the match, he would leave him alone forever, but the World and Euro titles must be put on the line. The A.O.A has till Monday to answer him.
Mike London took on The Uncanny Inferno for the SIW North American Championship in the main event. They delivered another classic match but it didn’t end the way Inferno had planned. James was getting treated by nurse Jenny Kox and wasn’t at ringside. Midway through the match, the ref was knocked down and London picked up a steel chair and went to level Inferno but he ducked and grabbed the chair and smashed it across London’s head. The referee happen to see the illegal tactic and disqualified the Champion. Carnage GM Shelby Kirby came out and said that she and the fans weren’t happy with the outcome of the match, and that next week, London would take on Inferno in a cage match so we can find out who the better man really is.
