01/25/02 - Well fans we are back with another year of great action and we started the year off with a great show.

We started the show with a tribute to a great wrestler who will be missed by wrestlers and fans alike Maniac Mike Davis. Mike had wrestled here in TOPs before and all over the world. He was truly a great man and there will be no one else like him. God bless Mike.

We also found out that Fitz would not be there, as an unknown assailant attacked him on the way to the arena. He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries. At this time Fitz is out of the hospital recovering but we still do not know who did this to him or why.

With President Rusty Maguire out of town on business, Mr. Venom and The Blue Hawaiian decided to take it upon themselves to do the drawing that would make the matches for the Texas Title Tournament. So Blue, Venom and The Commissioner of TOPS, Jimmy James, made their way to the ring to hold the drawing. It seemed a little odd that these three would be pairing the wrestlers up for matches considering Venom had two members of his Crue scheduled to be in the tournament. As suspected, it did look very strange as they tried putting members of The Crue in the tournament that were not champions. It was also a little odd that The Douglas Brothers ended up wrestling each other. Venom is not above trying to cause trouble between these two brothers and cause them to split up. With no one there to stop
them, they had control over the whole show or so they thought. More on that later.

With no one around to control Venom he made his presence known all night long. He was out during The Douglas Brothers match trying to cause trouble between the brothers and cause them to split. However it did not happen, as after the match they shook hands and went back to the dressing room together. Venom's plan did not work as he had planned. Venom's goal that night was to take out the Hard 8 one by one and he did a very good job of it. After Shea Wright defeated "The One & Only" Chuck Murphy, Venom and Murphy began attacking Shea and Hoss, obviously angry over the loss. Mr. Venom took care of Hoss as The One & Only was beating on Shea. Then out of nowhere came Scott Stuart to the ring. We have seen Scott a few times but he has not sided with anyone the times he has been here. Venom, Murphy and Stuart had a stare down while Shea was lying helpless on the mat. Then Venom said something to Scott and he began attacking Shea as well. Obviously there was a set up on Venom's part as he told the crowd that Fast Eddie was fired and the newest member of the Crue and the new member of The Impact Thrillers was "The Shooter" Scott Stuart. Luckily for Shea, his former partner, The Cowtown Kidd came out and returned the favor to Shea for saving him back in November. So Eddie is out and Scott is in as one half of The Impact Thrillers. Venom just keeps bringing the guys out of the woodworks.

So with Eddie gone, the question was who would face his opponent for the night Justin Walker. Once again Mr. Venom made his presence known and told Justin not to worry but he found him a suitable opponent for him in Brett Bonz. However he didn't think it was fair because of the weight advantage Justin had so he was making it a handicapped match and Brett's partner was going to be The Punisher. However, Justin stated that a clause in the contract said that Venom could not change his match without his approval and if there was going to be a handicapped match he wanted it to be three on one. He told Venom he would take on three members of his Crue at one time, however there was one catch, the third member had to be him. Venom threw a fit but he had no choice and now he was stuck in a match and there was nothing he could do. Of course Venom didn't get involved too much as he let his men beat Justin down then he would take advantage just like the coward he is. Justin was in very bad shape afterwards and all three men attacked him viciously. Venom got a metal chair out of the crowd and began beating on Justin and busted him wide open and left him laying in a pool of his own blood. Luckily, The Douglas Brothers came to save Justin and ran Venom and his thugs off. Justin suffered a massive concussion do to the beating and will be out of action for awhile.

Later in the night during the cage match between The F'N Texan and Ricky Jackson, Venom sent his Crue out to try and take out Ricky Jackson like they did Justin Walker. However, therest of The Hard 8 came to save Ricky before too much damage could be done. After venom and his Crue left ringside, The Blue Hawaiian started running his mouth to the Hard 8 and payed dearly for it as they dragged him into the ring and took all of their anger out on him.

President Rusty Maguire was out of town on business but he did have an impact on the show. After all that had happened during the night with Venom and his Crue a call was placed to Rusty and he made a few changes to the show. The main event was to be the finals of The Texas Title Tournament between Jimmy James, Kyzer Douglas & Wade Walker. Rusty made this a cage match as well with Venom's Crue and The Hard 8 banned from ringside to make this an even match. Wade ended up the winner and new Texas Champion but Jimmy was not very happy he lost, so he took a door that was used in the match and laid everyone out including the referee. Venom rushed to the ring to calm Jimmy down and get him to the back before he did anymore damage. We will have to see what will become of this, because you can't go out and just hit the ref's here in TOP's without some punishment.

Things are really getting wild around here, you have Mr. Venom running things and you got The Hard 8 trying to stop him. Can anyone stop this madness before it gets out of control? The President said that he did not care if Venom had all the power or no, he will not stand by and watch Venom ruin this company.
