TWC Early History up to 2001
The TWC (Takeley Wrestling Championships) have a long and illustrious history
dating back to 1991. It originated in the village of Takeley in Essex, England
(hence the name) and now boasts an eleven year history. Now TWC goes "on
the net" and gives everybody a chance to become part of it's history, a history
that is briefly outlined now.
Originally it was Chris Chazzeller as a twenty-five year old independent
graduated wrestler from the Stansted School of Wrestling (SSW) that started
gathering together individuals and organising matches. These matches attracted
the attention of other independent wrestlers and soon a group of eight founded
the TWC, employing the financial backing and presidential expertise of an
individual known as Sledgehammer Simon.
As the years went on, TWC hosted four major pay-per-views in England during
the nineties, all of which are available on video cassette. The federation
changed hands a number of times with their being different owners and presidents
right up until it's major turning point in 1996. The company was bought
by the biggest superstar in the history of the company. One Mr Jayse The
Ace.
Although a huge wrestling star, Jayse The Ace's business savvy was questionable.
The company's activities were suspended and Jayse put half the company up
for sale. The portion was bought by a combined offer from King Crasher and
The Gladiator, famous rivals of Jayse The Ace.
Even though TWC activities were suspended, TWC have continued to sign it's
superstars under a contract allowing them to wrestle elsewhere but be recalled
by TWC. It is now that TWC has reincarnated as TWC America (Transatlantic
Wrestling Championships as opposed to Takeley Wrestling Championships) that
these recalls may come into affect. But also this means that the legacy
of the TWC's championship can be unfrozen and the illustrious history of
this company can continue through the members of the roster today.
