Vengeance 2003 Kolour Kommentary,
fresh from the Kramium

U.S. Title Match
Eddie Guerrero def. Chris Benoit

I agree with this decision, Eddie Guerrero was a terrific Interontinental Champion. Let's hope that he does this title justice like he did it's RAW counterpart. Also, it sets up two feuds as opposed to one, and we FINALLY saw the end of the Chris Benoit and Rhyno tandem.

APA Bar-Room Brawl
Bradshaw won

The question is: Did anyone even care?

Indecent Proposal Match
Jamie Noble def. Billy Gunn
(with Torrie Wilson)

I'm happy for Noble, and not because of what the stipulation states. I'm happy for him because they're finally doing something with him. The "Hots for Torrie" storyline is the third one he's had, the first two being his feud with Hurricane over Nidia in June last year, and last November's losing streak which climaxed in Nunzio's debut. So, three cheers for the booking commitee for making the right choice in the winner. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Undertaker def. John Cena

Despite the fact that this was the second match on the card announced, it was the least hyped (with the exception of Noble/Gunn, which they had no time to hype). In all fairness, who (with the exception of hardcore Undertaker and/or John Cena fanatics) was psyched about this one? Granted, 'Taker wasn't on the last SmackDown! before Vengeance due to his father's ailment, but the previous weeks should have been sufficient enough. Emphasis on the word "should". As regards to Undertaker winning, I say it was a bad move. Taker doesn't have long left, so they should use him to elevate as much new talent as necessary.

Tag Team Title Match
The World's Greatest Tag Team (champions) def. Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio

That Kidman and Mysterio got a Tag Team Title shot speaks volumes about how seriously WWE takes the Cruiserweight Division. During and after Ultimo Dragon's debut, it looked like he, Mysterio and Kidman would clash at Vengeance for the Cruiser strap. Now, Ultimo's doing nothing, and Kidman and Mysterio are tackling the tag team division. Vengeance was the first pay-per-view that Mysterio could have defended his title on, so shouldn't he have done that? (From that ramble above, I think it's obvious I was rooting for Benjamin and Haas).

Sable def. Stephanie McMahon

This was quite obviously just meant to be a cheap T&A match (at least on Sable's half, anyway). T&A segments don't work on wrestling shows! The ratings prove that! T&A should be kept where it belongs - on videos and DVD's made for that purpose. Why bother having the match? Why bother having dear old (literally) Sable win? Ragha-fragha-shragha-dhagha-uckin-Sable-uckin-Steph-uckin-ragha-fragha!

Vince McMahon def. Zach Gowen

I'm surprised Vince didn't make this a No-Holds-Barred match, he only competes in those. Personally I didn't care about this match. I didn't care who won, I didn't care that it took place, I didn't care that Vince smashed up Zach's knee with a steel chair on SmackDown!, so why should I bother delving deep into my Kramium to give my Kommentary?

Triple Threat WWE Title Match
Kurt Angle def. Brock Lesnar (champion) and Big Show

Yay! Yay! Yay! Kurt won, Kurt won! He pinned Brock. Finally they gave a decent pinfall win over Lesnar to someone OTHER than Big Show. The fact that they're contemplating turning Brock heel because of Kurt's babyface appeal speaks volumes about Angle's charisma. In January/February/March of this year Kurt would have been the premiere heel in WWE were it not for Trips' ego, er, uh, trip. Now, Kurt's the most over face on SmackDown! That man deserves to be the WWE Champion!
