WCW Circa 1995 In 1995, WCW started to become a major player in the wrestling Industry. After the likes of Hogan, Beefcake, Duggan, Nasty Boys, Big Boss Man & Typhoon left WWF, John Tenta (AKA Earthquake) soon followed. After debuting the gimmick, "The Avalanche", Eric Bischoff decided to change things. Thus the Dungeon of Doom was born.
We had The Wizard, Taskmaster, the Zodiac, Meng the Face of Terror, Kamala the Ugandan Warrior and last but not least.....
THE SHARK!!!
To go with this gimmick, Tenta went under an overnight re-animation of his tiger tattoo, redesigning it into looking like a Shark. If that wasn't bad enough, they made him wear goofy ring attire with a Shark splitting across his waist. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! He would walk to the ring with his hands formed into a fin. ON TOP OF THAT!......His hometown was the Great Barrier Reef!!! Still that wasn't enough. So.....He painted his mouth region with teeth!! And he would chomp away as he came to the ring. This pathetic excuse for creativity ended shortly after, and well, Tenta was better off as the Shark, I think.
