WWF In Your House 4 Review By BAR

October 22, 1995

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

The show starts with a video package running down all of the matches on the card, a card that drew 0.4, the lowest buyrate for a WWF PPV, period. Next we get treated to the Canadian national anthem by an up and coming ‘star’ Toni Wilson. The interim WWF president Gorilla Monsoon is up next with a speech about Shawn Michaels having to forfeit the Intercontinental title to Dean Douglas tonight, Gorilla also states this is the one of the hardest decisions he has ever had to make.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Fatu

The match starts with Fatu threatening Hunter with a perfume bottle. Fatu hits a back body drop and continues to pummel Helmsley. Hunter still has his riding jacket on as he gets thrown to the outside. They brawl on the outside until Fatu sends Helmsley back into the ring. Helmsley starts to control the match as Fatu gets caught in the ropes. Helmsley hits a Piledriver and does a bow. Hunter hits a high knee but only gets 2. Hunter locks on a Chinlock and then a clothesline for another 2 count. Hunter does a DDT but Fatu no-sells and hits a Superkick, then a back body drop. Fatu hits a second rope headbutt for 2. A diamond cutter, followed by a big splash misses as Hunter capitalises with the Pedigree for the 3 count. **1/4

The Smoking Gunns vs. Razor Ramon & 1-2-3 Kid: WWF World Tag Team Championship Match

The Kid and Billy start it off as the Kid hits an Arm Drag. Showing some great stuff, which he is missing nowadays. Billy gains control and tags in Bart. The Kid tags in Razor. Bart does a fireman’s carry and controls Razor. Bart’s runs against the ropes but the Kid pulls the ropes and Bart goes to the outside. Bart gets thrown back into the ring and clotheslined in the corner by Da Bad Guy. Kid gets tagged in and kicks Bart in the corner. Kid then hits two quick leg drops. Razor comes back in and hits a Fallaway slam on Bart. The Kid is back in and combines with Razor to do a another Fallaway slam but this time the Kid is the one getting thrown, into Bart. The Kid gets a 2. J.R. mentions the Kid and Razor made 6 tags so far. The Kid & Razor continue to dominate until Billy gets the tag in and goes to work on the Kid. The Gunns do a double team move but only get a 2. Billy misses the splash in the corner as the Kid gets another 2. Razor tags in and hits Billy with the Razor’s Edge. The Kid tags in to get the pinfall but it’s quickly reversed by Billy for the 3 count. The Kid takes a tantrum but to no effect, they lost. Decent match, **1/2

Marty Jannetty vs. Goldust

The match starts off fast with Jannetty in control as Goldust goes to the outside. The WWF debut of the bizarre one isn’t going to well as Jannetty continues to control the match. Goldust plays mind games to get control of the match. Marty changes the pace of the match again with a frankensteiner. Goldust is thrown into the ropes but ducks Jannetty’s offence and hits a clothesline. Goldust rakes Marty’s eyes across the ropes and continues his offence only to get a 2 count. They brawl on the outside as Goldust regains control with a Suplex back into the ring. Jannetty eventually gets a Rocker Dropper and heads to the top rope but amounts to nothing as Goldust moves. Marty goes up again but ‘Dust gets the foot up and hits a face first Suplex for the 3. 1/2*.

Yokozuna vs. King Mabel

The two men brawl, as Mabel gets clotheslined to the outside. Mabel gets back in and hits Yoko with a flying clothesline. Yoko goes to the outside this time. When he gets back in, he’s gets pummelled in the corner by the King. Both men miss elbow drops and leg drops. Mabel goes for a bulldog but misses but Yoko stills sells it and falls to the outside. They brawl on the outside until the referee calls a double count out, thank god. -*****

Dean Douglas vs. Razor Ramon: WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

Shawn Michaels comes down and forfeits the I.C. title and leaves as he can’t defend because of his Syracuse beating. Razor pummels the future Franchise to start it off. Razor works on the arm for a couple of minutes and gets a few slaps in. Razor eventually hits his patented Fallaway slam and clotheslines Dean to the outside. Razor Suplexes Douglas back in but they eventually end up on the outside. Razor hits a Chokeslam on the Dean. But Dean gets control of the match with a flying body press from the top rope. Both men lie on the floor after some more boring offence, as Razor puts his arm across for the 3, but Dean’s foot was outside of the ring, oh the controversy. ¼*

Diesel vs. Davey Boy Smith: WWF World Heavyweight Championship Match Bret Hart is on commentary for this one as Jerry Lawler flees from the scene. Diesel gains control early with a body slam. Davey heads to the outside. As he returns to the ring he continues to get treated like a rag doll by Big Daddy Cool. Davey gets on top with a Dropkick to the outside and a chop block from behind. Davey gets him back into the ring and works on the leg. Davey continues the punishment as Jim Cornette gets his licks in also. Davey gets a Boston Crab but BDC powers out of it. Davey continues on the leg until Diesel reverses a Suplex but Davey Boy continues on the leg attack. Davey then locks in the Sharpshooter but Diesel powers out again. Diesel gets on the top of the match and hits the big leg across the middle rope on the head of Davey. They fight on the outside until Bret comes into the ring and beats up Davey Boy Smith. Davey Boy wins by DQ. Diesel gets mad at Bret and they go at it until they get split up by officials. *1/2.
Overall: This is probably the worst PPV the WWF ever did and that’s saying something.
