Oh Beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain. For purple mountains Majesty, above the fruited plain.. America America, God shines his love on thee..
From as far back as I can remember my heart has been firmly entrenched on America's shores, I learned on my Daddy's lap,how precious America is..He taught me that Freedom and Liberty are bought at a great cost, therefore it was far more precious then any gold..Because it was bought with the blood and travail of those of our brothers and sisters before us, and long after we are gone...
Now you may say it is easy for a lady to say,and for that matter any American to say.. But you see I come from a family who has always been ready to defend their country.. My daddy was a disabled veteran, he was sniper shot in the Aleutian Islands..My brother and myself never met my uncle, who my brother is named after. He lies somewhere in Europe, along with other fallen warriors, who shed their blood on D-day..
"The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops"
An Examination into the leading principals of the Federal Constitution Proposed by the Late Convention(1787) Noah Webster
On August 24,1974 I married, the love of my life, my best friend. I firmly believe that souls are two halves of whole souls.. When God had Adam fall into a sleep, and he took the rib of Adam and fashioned Eve,he took a half of Adams soul,God intended for us to be with the other half of our souls, everyone has a soulmate.
I married on that beautiful sunshine Saturday in Kailua, Hawaii a U.S. Marine, and He served 21 years and though retired for 6 years is still a Marine... "Once a Marine~Always a Marine". My husband was in the Air Wing..He has been considered by his peers from the first command onwards as being, a 110 per cent Marine. Meaning he has always been ready to go the extra 10 per cent to carry out his duty for his unit or his Country...
The last 6 years of my husbands active duty was stationed at HMX-1 The Presidential Squadron. This duty is almost every Marines dream..For it is usually from the best of the best that are chosen to be stationed there. My husband served under Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton..
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force you are ruined."
He worked on nearly every aircraft in the Marine Corps inventory, save the harrier. His favorite fixed wing aircraft was the F-4 Phantom II, and torn between the CH-46 Sea Knight and CH-53 Sea Stallion as his favorite rotary wing aircraft.
"A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves.. and include all men capable of bearing arms..To preserve liberty it is essential that the whole body of peoplealways possess arms.."
As I mentioned on my very first Anniecorrina page.I am a mother of three boys. My oldest Son, Christopher Douglas, became A United States Marine, In the Fall after he Graduated from high school 1994. Though we tried to stir him away from the Infintry units, He chose to enter as a Radio operator, or Comm as they say..The life expectancy of the guy with the radio, in a combat situation is counted in seconds..I spent the next 4 years...praying he wouldn't need to go..I believe in heroics, but I don't know if I could hold the radio knowing the enemy was tracking where I was...My husband and I went to DC. for Cherry Blossoms. We went by the Vietnam Memorial, and if you make it to Washington, There is a field with statues of our guys called "On Patrol" as they would have walked through the rice paddies in VietNam, and it really hit me...Because one of the statues was a radio operator...
If I were an American, as I am an Englishman, while a foreign troop was landed in my country, I never would lay down my arms-never-never-never' You cannot conquer America."
I am proud of all my sons, whatever course they may take in life, My love will always be there for them. They are truly gifts, that God loaned for me, to take care of and shape as best I could..My Middle son, before he graduated was all set to join the Marine Corps. (yes my sons have always followed in their daddy's footsteps). But my son decided to follow his fiance's wishes, and to enroll in Shepherd College, he is in his 3rd year, as a Computer Engineer Major...I feel it takes a special man to consider his loved ones feelings and concerns.
I ask, sir what is the militia? It is the whole people...To disam the people is the best and effectual way to enslave them."
No I come to my youngest. I thought it was hard when my oldest joined up before he even graduated. Well I was not ready for my baby to go...(after all this was my baby) Well you know how it is (when do kids ever pay attention to their mama's)My baby joined, and is now a United States Marine.... He is presently going to school as a ordnanceman on the Harriers. The Harrier squadron, he is going to be with, is on stand by for Kosovo...
