Big Elm Elementary School is part of the Harrison County School System. The school is located in Shinnston, WV. Shinnston and Big Elm are on Route 19 between Clarksburg and Fairmont. Shinnston is also fifteen minutes from Interstate 79 and the new F.B.I center.

     Big Elm serves students from kindergarten to grade five. Current enrollment is 752. After attending Big Elm, students attend Lumberport Middle School (grades 5-8) and Lincoln High School.
