Linkous Family

James Honaker and Susan Linkous

The Linkous Family comes from Germany as does the Surface, Trolinger and Price families.
The Linkous, Price and Surface families settled in a place called Draper. This is located in Virginia and is near Blacksburg. The land was surveyed by Colonial Patton and contains some 7,500 acres.
Land was set aside on the settlement of Henry Linkous for the Lutheran Church. It was called Prices Church, St Michaels and St. Peters. Baptismal records for the Surface and Price family may be found in this churchs records. They can be located at the LDS library in your community or ordered throught this library from Salt Lake.
Henry Linkous was a Hessian Soldier sent to America to fight with the British in the Revolutionary War. After the war was over, he decided to stay in America.
Henry came from a town in Germany called Weissenborn-Luderrode.
