THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

I started this page because I wanted to express what the the true meaning of Christmas, the Spirit of Christmas, means to me. In the world today, too may people focus on all the commercial and material things to show the meaning of Christmas. It saddens me that they don't know that the true Spirit of Christmas is in Jesus, who was born into a world of sin so that we would not have to die in our sins. So, let me tell you why the Spirit of Christmas is so important to me and why Christmas is my favorite holiday of all..........

The real reason for Christmas is celebrating the birth of a perfect baby who would grow up, without sin, to show everyone how to get to heaven. Along the way, He did work miracles, but what was more important than any of those miracles was that Jesus provided a way for everyone to go to heaven and not die in their own sins. Being born into a world of sin, we are not perfect like Jesus was. So we cannot enter heaven on our own merits or good deeds. To me, Jesus was the very first Christmas Gift! When you receive a Christmas gift from someone, do you reject it? I don't, so this special gift that Jesus offered, His own life for mine, and also yours,the forgiveness of our sins,and a hope in the future is a gift that should be accepted. Have you accepted this precious gift that Jesus has offered to you?

Most of us know that Christmas is about Jesus--or at least it used to be about Jesus. In these times, it can be hard to find Jesus in what we have made of Christmas. If you want to have
a Christmas that can change your life, here are some things the Bible says about Jesus and about you:
DID YOU KNOW?
That you are separated from God by your sin and that you are unable to save yourself from the punishment you deserve?
DID YOU KNOW?
That Jesus is God's Son and that God sent Him to take your punishment for sin, so you could be right with God?
DID YOU KNOW?
That no matter how good you are, the only way you can be saved is through Jesus?
DID YOU KNOW?
That after Jesus suffered and died for your sins, He rose from the grave and is now in heaven?
DID YOU KNOW?
That He is coming again--not as a little baby but as a conquering king?
DID YOU KNOW?
That you have to decide what to do about Jesus? Jesus said: "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." (John 3:36)

So Christmas is the most important event in the history of the world! If not for the birth of Jesus, then He would not have been here to die to pay the penalty for our sins; If not for the birth of Jesus, then He would not have been her to rise from the dead and then return to heaven to prepare a place for us!
Here are some scriptures from the Bible that you should know:

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
(John 3:16)
The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance(turn away from sin).
(2 Peter 3:9)
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.
(Acts 16:31)
The wages of sin is death(separation from God), but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 6:23)
To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.
(John 1:12)

So, you see? Jesus became the most important part of the biggest rescue ever! It began on Christmas Day! But sadly, there are those who refuse to be rescued! The only one who can rescue us is the one who took the punishment that we deserved and who cleans up our lives.

C is for the Christ-child Who was born on Christmas day.

H is for the hay that filled the stable where He lay.

R is for the road to Bethlehem where He was born.

I is for the inn that had no room that Christmas morn.

S is for the shepherds who were watching through the night.

T is for three wise men who were waiting for a light.

M is for the manger that became a baby bed.

A is for the angels that were singing round his head.

S is for the star that brightly shone in eastern sky,
Showing all the world that Jesus came to earth to die,
Just to take our punishment, and wash our sins away.
So we can go to Heaven where we'll live with Him some day.

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and I believe that you died to pay the penalty for my sins. I turn away from sin and ask you to forgive me. Please come into my heart and help me to life for you. Help me to have a relationship with you and not just going through this for the sake of others, but to surrender my life to YOU, Lord! I understand that I can't do this on my own. I need You to clean up my life and give me wisdom to make the right choices that will please You, God.
