Chapter 11

Eli-

I can't believe it has been over a year since I got here. Watching these kids grow up and spending time with Caly. It has been the greatest time in my life. No worrying that the evil inside of me will grow. Actually it has shrank. I have regained my usual self and have been using these dark powers for purposes of goodness.

The bad part about my spending this time with Caly is my feelings of friendship have turned into so much more. Not just a simple crush, but strong feelings. That is why I have decided that it is time for us to go home. Well, at least me Caly can come if she feels like it. Though she has a good bit of friends here. Mostly girls, which I have caught staring at me when I am working at the docks. It is summer and hot so right when noon strikes my shirt comes off. You should see them. The are like wild wolves staring at their next target.

It seems that these days they bring Caly out at least three times a week, during my working time, to get her mind off the kids and to have some fun. But, Caly and I both knoww hat they want. I mean hey when one of them brings their dog everyday and you can listen through animals you usually know what people are talking about.

I have made some human and animal friends of my own. Like the Robin I talk to on my way to work. The seagull and dolphins I talk to during work. And then there is this wolf that hangs around looking for food to feed her young cubs. I talk to her everyday as I buy her some food at the market. Well, today is the day I talk to Caly about leaving.

'Hey Caly I have something I need to talk to you about,' I said to her telepthically as I spied her and her friends hanging around the dock.

'What is it Eli? Can't it wait for tomorrow?'

'No, I need to tell you that I feel it is time to go home, back to Maeve and the bunch. I am Sure Isaac would want to meet his kids.'

'Oh..... let me think about it. I don't know. I will get back to you tomorrow. Okay?'

'Okay. No problem. Tell me tomorrow when your friends come again. And tell them that I really enjoy the praise they have been giving me.'

'Eli, quit listen through the dog!'

'I will.......not.'

'Ugh you are so childish, but cute.'

Caly-

I don't know what to do. I mean I love Isaac so much, but my feelings for Eli are there too. I have never seen this side of him. He has been so caring to the girls. Almost like they were his own children. He has provided for them as well. Every Sunday he brings a treat for them. I try to tell him to quit bringing chocolate for them, but he is like a father that just wasn't to be great. I don't think I will be able to handle these emotions around Eli and Isaac. I fear the worst for them both. My love for Isaac is strong and feels right, but Eli is also strong and at the moment feels right. I wish I had Zirc or Taylor to talk to. I guess I will have to sleep on it.

That night I had this nightmare. There was Eli and I on a ship with the kids. When we got off I ran to Isaac and showed him the girls. But, when I said this is your daddy they looked toward Eli. As I also looked at Eli I had this loving expression on my face. Well, Isaac saw this and he started yelling towards Eli. Eli tried to brush it aside and get their friendship going again, but Isaac wouldn't. All of a sudden Isaac blasted Eli with a strong gust of wind. Eli was knocked right into a tree and retaliated with shots of lightening so fierce that nothing could stop them.

Their battle raged on. as both of them shot at each other for the last time, I awoke in a cold sweat. I couldn't let Eli or Isaac go through that. I couldn't hurt either one of them. So I decided it was for the best and wrote out two notes. One to Eli explaining why I had ran off and one to Isaac apologizing for my long absense and for probably never seeing him again.

Then, that night, the girls and I boarded a ship and headed off never to see Eli or Isaac again.

Eli-

The day of the decision I woke up early and went to see what Caly decided, but when I got to her room she nore the kids were there. Just two notes one for me and another for Isaac. I openned the one for me up.

Eli,

I know this may come as a shock, but I can't return with you. So I have taken the kids and gone. The place is unknown to me and I am sure that my, yours, or Isaac's paths will not cross again.

I had to do this because I have ran into feelings for you. Strong ones of what seemed like love. I could not put you and Isaac in an awkward position of that. I am sorry for this immediate departure and I wish for you to give Isaac the letter written to him. Please though don't read it. If he shows it to you that is fine, but it is for his eyes only.

Thanks for being there,

Caly

I couldn't believe what she was saying. She did it again. Caly is a strong person, but when it comes to her emotions she is weak. I can't believe that she felt the same way I did. Though I know it is wrong to feel that way I still do. How I am going to face Isaac. Well, I don't want to hurt him, but the truth has to be told. Anyway I miss my sisters. Well, time to go.

After a month or two of traveling I was home. Now the hard part. Trying to withstand all those hugs. My first priority is to get this letter to Isaac. Great, Lana is taking a nap in the yard. I think I am going to try that spell I learned from the elder in the village. Great my evil side is going to do some good for my sister. As I stood there I said an ancient verse an released some of the dark lightening towards Lana. Luckly it is very silent and wouldn't not disturb her in any way. As I watched her, her translucient self became a human body again.

She was alive for good this time.

Lana-

I was dreaming about life. Not exactly uncommon, since I'm dead, but still...

My whole family and group of friends were there, including Caly, Isaac, Zac, Zirconia, Taylor, Maeve, Mama, Papa, Crystal, and Eli. I missed him so much, it hurt. It was killing me inside. I wished that he would come back, even though I knew that was close to impossible. What would be even better is that he would bring Caly with him. I would die all over again right then and there...

As I came out of my subconsious state, I felt... different. Tingly all over, kind of. I looked at my hands... I couldn't see through them!! I looked around frantically, looking for any clues.

"LANA! GET IN HERE, NOW!" Maeve yelled. Why she yelled, I don't know...

I walked into the house slowly, not knowing what to expect. Then, I saw a flash of black from the cornor of my eye, and I slowly turned my head... And screamed.

Zac-

I was trying to get some sleep, when all of the sudden, I here the door slam shut, then a female's shrill sceam. I jumped out of bed, bounded down the hall and stairs, and finally came screeching to a halt to see Eli, Lana, Maeve, and Zirconia all embraced in a hug.

Isaac yelled "Group hug!", so Taylor, himself, and I jumped in. Rose just kind of hung back, not know what to expect.

I grabbed Lana by the arm, pulling her towards me for a hug, then noticed something.

"You're alive!" I screamed, hugging her tightly. I suddenly got bold, giving her a full-fledged kiss on the lips. She pulled back for a minute, with a shocked expression on her face, then pulling me in for another one, all the while laughing joyfully.

"I declare, we must throw a welcome home party for Eli!!" Maeve exclaimed, throwing her arms up in a manor that would probably stun 19th century men.

Lana-

When Zac... kissed me, I was surprised at first. I mean, who wouldn't be? Your best friend of 3 years suddenly shows more interest in you then friends. Woah.

I did enjoy it, though. However, my mind was on other things at the time, such as my brother. It felt so good to have Eli home, where he belonged. For the rest of the night, I followed him around like a sick puppy, all the while not believeing myself when I said that he was back, and most of all, that I was finally alive. It was so... unreal.

Later that night, after everyone else was fast asleep, I heard Zac softly come down the hall, then softly knocking on my door.

"Hey." I smiled weakly, amazed at how beautful Zac looked with the light alluminating around his golden hair.

"Hey Lana, mind if I?" he motioned his hands as if he wanted to climb into the bed next to me ***AN: No, not that way!! God, people these days are so horny, I swear!!***

"Can we talk for a while? I can't seem to fall alseep." Zac requested, looking at me with his puppydog eyes.

"Only on one condition." Zac looked at me skeptically. "If you let me choose the color of your hair tomorrow. No Pink, I promise." I smiled.

"Aww, sucks. And I was just starting to love pink." Zac grinned. We both started to lean forward slowly, unknowing and unskilled ***AN: Unlike Caly and Isaac. *grin* (I'm sorry!)***. As our lips touched, I felt a bolt of electricity. We both started to get into the kiss, when someone opened the door loudly.

"Hey, you two! Watch it!! Please... You're only 12, Lana, and Zac, you're 14!!" Isaac scowled at the 'display' he saw in front of him.

"Actually, tomorrow I'll look like I'm 14. Don't tell anyone though, k?" I giggled softly. playing with Zac's hair.

Isaac winked, then whispered, "You have my word as a gentlman on it."

-Rose-

I awoke with the screaming and yelling of everyone in the house. I was quite confused. I walked out to where the noise was and realized Eli was home. I wasn't in the mood for partying but since everyone else was so happy I put on my best fake smile and walked up to Eli.

"Hi....um....So....How are you?" I asked. Everyone started laughing at me.

"You could be a little more happy, Rose!" Zac exclaimed.

"Oh, leave me alone Zac" I said. He quickly came back with an old saying "Woohoo some one woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning".

"Actually, no. Not this time, ya see just the sight of seeing your face puts me in a bad mood" I snapped back.

"Rose, cut that out" Maeve said. "Yea, Rose what's up with you today??" Lana asked

"If I didn't know better I'd think you were evil". Ha! I laughed to myself, if she knew better...she would know i was evil, and at that moment i was feeling evil and I didn't know why, nor did I like it.

I wanted to be like I was before, "Not in Medwin's power". Still in the room I sat down and started crying. I think Zac was laughing.

"Rose, Come here" Eli said. He put his arm on my shoulder and led me to the kitchen were no one was.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Do you remember when I caught you talking to Medwin" he asked.

"Yes".

"Well, Do you want me to help you get out of his power?" he asked.

"Who says I want to?" I cried.

"Well, I could tell when you started crying" he said.

"Yea, that was a give away wasn't it?" I asked.

"Well if you want my help do me a favor, don't put any love or hate spells on anyone and oh yea, take that spell off of Taylor" he said.

"What Spell?" I asked innocentely.

"The one that made him in love with Maeve" he said unbelivingly.

"Oh yea...that one. Ok...umm..thanks" I said. I was tired of no one talking to me so I took a long walk on the beach. I don't even know if the walk was what you would call long..it was more like an interminable walk.

At first I was just walking really slow, then I started jogging not knowing where i was going, the finally i was running. I still din't know where I was going but I didn't care.

"And where do you think your going?" a familiar voice asked.

"I..I..I..I" said starting to tremble.

It was Medwin. "I don't think I should let you live" he said.

"What do you mean" I said cluelessly.

"I heard you talking to Eli".

I was scared, I had no where to run, I was almost positive Medwin was going to kill me right there and then. I was so frightened, that I could not hold in the terror much longer, and I knew within' seconds I'd be crying, or running. But what happened next was one of the biggest miracles that has ever happened to me.

"Well, you know what?" Medwin asked "I'm going to give you another chance kid. Maybe you just don't know my rules..and that's why I'm sparing your life".

Then he vanished.

I ran as fast as I could, and I think that at the rate I was running I could have made an olympic record.

When I got back to the house Eli was sitting on the floor partly sleeping. "We need to talk again" I whispered making sure that if he was truly awake, I wouldn't wake him up.

"Ok" he said jumping to his feet.

"I wanna talk outside" I said nodding towards the door. As we walked out I realized that all this time I'd gotten to know everyone atleast a tad bit but I had never known Eli.

We sat outside and talk for a really long time. We didn't talk so much about me needing to escape Medwin's control, but we became friends.

About an hour before sunset Eli told me he'd try to do his best to get me out of Medwin's control and that he'd make sure I still had some kind of power afterwards.

As we were ready to go back in I looked at the beach. There was a girl walking. "I wonder who that is.." Eli said as she came closer. But we didn't stay out to see who they were because I could see Tay chasing Maeve around, and I needed to take that love spell off of him.

This was going to be one long night.

Mariah **A New Character**

-Before I tell my story, I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Mariah Constence Thomas. I am 14 years old and I was born in London, England. I have long blonde hair that reaches my waste line. I have very bazaar eyes which cause many people to gawk at me. They contain the colours aqua, fusuia, lime green, cranberry, and teal. I am very short but thin. Well, enough about me lets get to my story.

As I ran down the beach which bordered the site of the tragic ship wreck my parents and I had just been involved in, I headed for the closest home.

The hot sand burned my feet. Tears trickled down my cheeks as a ran faster and faster toward the house that came into my vision. I hadn't been able to locate my parents and I needed help instantaneously.

I dashed up onto the back porch of the house I had spotted earlier. I then banged with both fists simoultaniously at the door.

A young girl about the age of 12 opened the door followed by a man about 20 years old. I quickely explained my situation and solumly the man apologized and told me that my parents would not be there if we tried to find them and that the harsh ocean had carried then at least 30 miles if not more by now away.

I stared into his eyes and burst into a stream of tears.

I had never thought that my parents would be dead. The terrible news overwhelmed me, and my legs gave in. As I headed towards the ground, they caught me and lead me to a comfortable couch in their stylish home. There was a woman sitting on the couch next to me.

"Eli, please explain to me who this young woman is" the woman said in a stern voice.

"Well, I'll let her tell you her story" Eli said. So I quickly re-told my story to the woman they called Maeve.

"Well, we'll be happy to keep you here and take good care of you" Maeve began

"You can call me Maeve, and that young man over there, his name is Eli, and the girl next to him is Rose". She then called the names of a girl named Lana and three boys, which I didn't catch their names. They all came running in and cheerfully greeted me.

"Hi, my name is Lana" the girl said politly as the other boys introduced themselfs as Zac, Tay, and Isaac.

I had completely forgotten to introduce myself to them and thank them for their kindness. I slowly stood up and told them that my name was Mariah Thomas and I had came from England by boat.

I then thanked them greatly for accepting me into their home. Maeve smiled and told me I was offically "one of them". I stared awkwardly at her but there was somthing about all of them.

They were all in a way like me I couldn't figure out how though. It puzzled me greatly. It suddenly came to me that they all in a way had features of sorcerers, which I was one also.

I cautously asked them if by any chance they were socerers. Lana giggled under her breath and Maeve gave her a cold stare that could have turned me to stone.

Maeve turned to me and answered that all 7 of them were. I smirked, glad that I had finally found someone like me.

I explained that I had the power to Levitate any item even if It weighed 10 tons. I also explained that I had the power to change into any, person, shape, or form.

I hoped that my new life here would bring changes that my old one hadn't. God only knew I needed some.

Adah **A New Character**

Hello! Before I start I'd like to tell you a little about myself. My name is Adah, and I am 16 years old. My hair has 3 differnt colours indulged in it. The middle is occupied by more of a blonde colour, while the bordering sides of the blonde are red and brown. I also have dark brown eyes, and am tall and thin.

Maybe this time everything would work out perfectly. From what I can tell so far, it will.

I had left in the middle of the night, right after everyone had fallen asleep. The previous night I had bought the train ticket to the place furthest away, packed my bag, and snuck out without the smallest suspicion.

I didn't expect running away from my third foster parents would be so easy, although it was quite a pleasant shock. I carried with me a bag with only vital nessesities, well, at least my idea of vital nessesities; clothing, food, all of my money (and a bit of my foster parents'), my brush, a blanket, my sketchpad, and some other items.

As soon as I got off the train I headed for the nearest woods. Even though I doubted anyone would recognize me, I felt it was better to not take the chance.

After traveling far into the woods, I came upon a small cave, where I spent the night, dreaming of the possibilities my life now had in store.

I woke up early the next morning, around 6:00am. I started traveling northward and after traveling for about three hours I came out of the woods. I traveled for about another forty-five minutes when I came upon a house, where I began to get a strong feeling.

Could it be? Had I stumbled upon more of my kind? I hadn't met another sorcerer since I had first been in the orphanage, 15 years ago.

After being there for about three years I met Lucy, who was also a sorcereress, not to mention my best friend. She had been adopted a year previous to my first adoption, yet, sadly, had died in a ship wreckage about 5 years ago. I had never met another sorcerer since then, nor had I found someone who could take her place as my best friend.

I wasn't sure what I was doing at the moment, but I went ahead without thinking and knocked on the door.

I wasn't sure what I was going to say or do, but I had to knock, and hopefully beyond that door would be some people willing to be my friends.

"Hello?" A tall woman, I'd say in about her early thirties answered the door. I suddenly felt very embarassed and pondered over excusing myself and leaving. I must have been standing there for about three minutes, thinking over my desicion, when I realized she was there.

"Uh, hi, um...sorry," I finally responded. I knew that my face was bright red.

"Are you okay?" the woman asked.

"Um, yeah,uh, I was just wondering...do you have any, uh, boarding rooms? I, I can pay you, I just, I just really need somewhere to stay, " I said, unable to think of anything else. Actually, when I thought about it, it wasn't that bad of an excuse.

"I'm sorry honey, I don't think,"she started to reply. My eyes started to water. I didn' think their would be any of socerers around. It wasn't really that I needed to be with sorcerers, but I felt that I could trust them more than regular humans. "Let me see what I can do. Come on in. My name is Maeve," she said.

"Hi!" I was very releaved. "I'm Adah. Thank-you so much!" Maeve brought me inside. We stood their for a moment, studying eachother.

"Are you hungry, you look like skin and bones?" she said to me.

I blushed. "I'm fine, thanks."

"Ok, I'm going to go see what arrangments I can make, um, just wait here," Maeve told me. I heard her talking to some others, then she came back into the. "Sorry, but all that's available for now is this room. Here are some blankets and a pillow."

"Thanks," I replied, "I'm really sorry for any trouble I've caused. I won't be here for long, I have to just get things together, then I'll be out of you hair. I really appreciate this though." Maeve smiled.

"Why don't you get some rest?" she said.

"I think I will," I replied. "Thank-you again," I said telepathically. Maeve turned around right as I closed my eyes.
