Chapter One

Part One~Isaac

Written By Eli

It is August 19, and my family and I are in Saint's Bay Harbor. My family members are: my dad, Walker; my mom, Diana; my brothers, Taylor, Zac, and Mackie; my sisters, Jessie and Avery; and myself, Isaac. We are at the harbor to pick-up some cargo, new crew mates, and some passengers. The only reason I hate being here is that the passengers are a new teacher for my siblings and I and some students of hers. There are only three students and she is teaching them sorcery. She herself is a master sorceress. From what I hear she is skilled in every type of the art. I believe my dad said her name was Maeve. Great here they come now. Now here comes the fun part- introductions.

Part Two~Lana

Written By Lana

"Lana, where are you sweetheart?" asked my teacher and friend, Maeve. "I'm right here!" I called. As soon as she had climbed the many stairs that lead to the main deck, she asked me what I was doing. "Just thinking about the three." I answered. "Ahhh.... Are you nervous about meeting the three?" she asked. "No, I'm just curious about what they will be like." I said. "Okay. We will be nearing shore soon, so get packed up as soon as you can!" she said. Then finally she left me alone to think.

I was very confused about my life. See, my family (or what is left of it) and Maeve have the gift of magic. We each have a different gift of magic. I'm a sorceress of light and I have the gift of sensing when another sorcerer is around. If he or she is bad, I get a bad feeling. If he or she is good, I will get a good feeling. My sister, Zirconia, who is 14, is the sorceress of fire, and she has the gift of having eyes that change colors with her mood. Such as if her eyes are orange, she is in love (which is very rare), if they are purple, she is content or happy, if they are red, she is mad, and the redder they get, the angrier she is, and when they are black, she is at the peak of her anger. If they are yellow, she is sad, and last, if they are light blue, she is in deep thought. Zirconia also has the power to sense anther's emotions. My brother, Eli, who is 19, is the sorcerer of wind and has the privilege of being the only one of us who can see what our hawk, Dermott, can see. He is really hard to understand sometimes. He could have been in a really bad situation and not show any emotion over it. But even though he doesn't show his emotions, I love him just as much as my big sister. My mother and father, Yasmine and Hajha, were trapped in a pendant of the evil sorcerer, Medwin. I was told that they are trapped in there simply because he disliked them.

Before I die, I would like to retrieve the evil one's pendent. The one that takes care of my siblings and I is Maeve, who also teaches us all we need to know about our powers. She is now going to start teaching the three, who go by the names of Isaac, Taylor, and Zachary (or Zac, which personally I think is sort of a cute little name), and are the ages 16, 14, and 11. My age is 11, also, and I believe Maeve is happy that I will finally have some company. All of us can speak telepathically, and when the three join the lessons, they will too learn how to speak in this manor. All of the sudden, I heard a great clap of thunder, then felt the tiny droplets of water that had landed on my shoulder.

'Lana, it is time to come in! 'Maeve said telepathically. 'Coming!' I replied, as I started towards the stairwell.

Part Three~Zirconia

Written By Zirconia

I glanced over at Lana as she descended the stairs. I was busy concentrating on my book. Maeve had handed it to me the other day and told me to read it in order to understand some of the things she would be teaching us. Eli and Lana had received one too, but I didn't know if they had started to read yet.

"Are you ever going to put the book down?" Lana asked as she sat next to me. I slipped a finger between the two pages I was on and simply replied, "It's interesting, ok? If you're bored, go start yours." Lana looked at my eyes, which were beginning to faintly turn red. I sensed I had hurt her feelings slightly; I normally did everything she asked. But she knew I hated it when someone bothered me when I was reading.

I turned back to my book and began reading about a new spell, used to control someone's actions for a period of time. When Lana saw I wasn't going to talk anymore, she stood and walked over to where Dermott and Eli were sitting. I heard her ask Eli something, but since I wasn't really listening I didn't understand. Then I heard Eli say, 'Zirconia, please put the book down and come talk to her. Can't you see she's bored?' I figured he had sent the message telepathically, so she couldn't hear it. The one thing that is hard for me to do with my power is read Eli's emotions. But I could almost tell he was a little upset with me because I was sort of neglecting Lana. I reluctantly placed my book an a box and walked over to where the three were. "So what do you want to do, Lana?"
