Half past six and off goes the alarm clock.
It's time to run downstairs and make breakfast.
Pack my Sandwiches.

Then it's running for the bus,
Running across the road to get the little commuter bus.
( sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't
all depends what kind of day it is really)

Then we get off the little bus
And we get on the train.
Same old faces on the train.
There's a man in the corner who blows smoke in your face.
Same old people, yet no-one ever speaks to you.
We all sit there like little packaged plastic parcels
With our umbrellas and our silly little briefcases
Full of our sandwiches.

We get on the train and we get off the train.

And it's:- "Good morning, how are you,
I'm very well thank you
can't complain
well I can
but there's no point wishing our lives away".

And, oh, what interesting duties await us today.
I wonder, I wonder, I wonder.
I wander, I wander, I wander.

SOMETIMES I FEEL JUST LIKE A GOVERNMENT MACHINE.

Soon gets to Tea-Break.
Tea - the elixir of life.
Right down the throat.
I suppose that's what makes life worth living.
Where would we be without our tea.
Know what I mean?

It's like I was saying today,
"It's been a hard day of addressing envelopes"
Think of that.
Couldn't you think of better things to do,
than write an envelope.

Soon the days over, soon gets to home time.
Get on the train again.
Same old faces. Still don't speak to them,
(well only to the ones I know!)
Know what I mean?

There we are. We get home again.
Dinner Time. Supper Time. Bed Time.
And then it's time to wake up again.
