Stages to Recovery

The first stage is Denial...in this stage the person is either minimizing the truth, or rejecting it all together.

The second stage is Anger...the anger expressed by the person is often misdirected.

The third stage is Bargaining...the person offers whatever he can to change the circumstances underwhich he is suffering.

The fourth stage is Depression...this is where the reality sets in. It is often the hardest stage to deal with. And from personal experience, it is the longest one.

The final stage is Acceptance...this is when the healing process finally makes some progress. The person realizes what happened, and also sees that there isn't anything they can do to change what happened. The can recover and begin to move on.
