The History

Heaven's Metal is a Christian heavy metal show that was started in 1989 a little more than a decade after The Rock had been going strong on WMUL FM 88.1. The show has had many DJs since it's birth. Originally the show was made up of only hard rock and glam metal, back when glam metal was starting to take off. Back then DJs were very unforunate to use only vinyl records instead of compact discs. However some of those vinyls are now worth much money. Some of them we still have and some of them have disapeared as the years have gone by.

The Present

Today Heaven's Metal is hosted by The Radio Saviour and Major Hale, who plays a mix of classic metal/power metal, doom/thrash/death/grind/black metal, metalcore/hardcore, heavy alternative, hard rock, rapcore, heavy metal, industrial metal, glam metal, arena rock and goth metal. The Radio Saviour and Major Hale promote independent bands/labels mostly but does not forsake the more known labels like Nuclear Blast(Narnia), Blacklight, Solid State, Bulletproof, Rugged, Rowe and Metal Blade(Mortification). The Radio Saviour and Major Hale try to do on-air giveaways often, giving away music that is generously donated by record labels and bands. They often uses simple true or false questions, sometimes some tough questions that only a die hard metal fan could know or just try to giveaway music to get people to call in. But with Heaven's Metal everyone is a winner, he or she still receives prizes anyway if they get a trivia question wrong. Heaven's Metal features a rather motley crew sometimes. Every now and then the austrailian Nick Dunde will pop in. Sometimes The Radio Saviour's Grandpapy come's by to bang his head with the DJs. Big Guns who's a gangster, will come by sometimes but he never has a gun with him, just a loud mouth. Og, a cavemean, stops by every few months but nobody except The Radio Saviour knows what he's saying. Now Paster Ben Henry and Rick Curl(a Californian) will give their commentary on the spiritual state of affairs on things in our nation every once in a while. So Heaven's Metal is never ever dull during it's three hours each Sunday. Now don't think that Heaven's Metal is all chuckles and such. There is a serious side to all the mayham. The Radio Saviour will sometimes by the leading of The Holy Spirit talk about The Word, but not for very long because the music is what the people want to hear most of all. The Radio Saviour has shared words of wisdom from The Word in the past about faith, healing, anger and Salvation. He sometimes reads from The Bible, either the NIV or KJV. It really doesn't matter which one because with God there are no limits on what The Lord can and can not use!

The Future

What the future hold for The Radio Saviour and Major Hale on Heaven's Metal only The Lord knows. However it is the hope and desire of The Radio Saviour and Major Hale that Heaven's Metal will continue to be bless, strengthen, challeng and encourage people in their faith through all the metal mayham. But the greatest hope is that people who don't have Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour would come to know Him through this ministry.
