CONFINEMENT comes from Brazil. Their demo tape "MUTE IDOLS" is a pretty good offering except it falls short in the production area. Oh the music is pretty freakin' heavy. Their style is death/thrash metal. However the vocalist has a old school punk style vocal delivery. It's evident that their focus is on Christ. This band can improve with time.
Here's something new from DTS RECORDS. It's a 10 song offering with tunes from CHROME DONUTS, WHITMANS MOLD and HOPESFALL. CHROME DONUTS starts of the disc with "Mama Said," "Know Something," "Out Of My Head" and "What A Way." CHROME DONUTS are an interesting mix of post-punk/metal, which I really enjoy from this band considering I'm not a fan of bands who try to mix the two sounds. WHITMANS MOLD is a rapcore band continuing on with their tunes "Color Me Blind," "Nobody Loves Me" and "Kingdom." HOPESFALL ends out the disc with their songs "Shines Through," "The Broken Heart Of A Traitor" and "In Reflection." HOPESFALL is a hardcore band that I believe will go very far. The talent of this band is only matched by just a few hardcore groups like NO INNOCENT VICTIM, OVERCOME, STRETCH ARMSTRONG and SELFMINDEAD, just to name a few. CHROME DONUTS, WITHMANS MOLD and HOPESFALL are all centered on Christ. So if you want more info on these cool band you can write to their label DTS RECORDS @ 532 SADDLEBROOKE LN, LEXINGTON, SC, 29072 or you can email the label at "DTSrecords@aol.com."
THE BLAMED has been around for a while. They broke up a few years ago but reformed this past year to record again. The result of that reformation is "...AGAIN," that showcases a new BLAMED, but a very heavy sound. Before THE BLAMED broke up they put out a very cool punk/hardcore sound. This recording focuses more on hardcore than the punk flavor I believe. However THE BLAMED focuses on something more important than hardcore, and that is Jesus! Their devotion to The Lord of Lords is very apartent in "...AGAIN." However I have two complaints about this recording. 1) In the jacket sleeve, each song has the lyrics jumbled together. It's hard to tell where one sentence starts and the next one begins. 2) Another pet peeve of mine is when the lyrics are all is lower case letters and words like "God" and "Saviour" are not printed with upper case lettering like they should be. However if these aren't problems for you, and you like hardcore, then "...AGAIN" should be in your collection. For more info you can write their label @ GRRR RECORDS, 920 W. I remember when EMBODYMENT sent me their 3 song demo tape. I production was superb! Their debut on SOLID STATE titled "EMBRACE THE ETERNAL" is no exception! The only difference between the demo tape and the CD is that the vocalist uses a hardcore style delivery on "EMBRACE..." and on the demo tape it was total death metal all the way! Oh EMBODYMENT still churns out the the metal, death style don't make any mistake about that! If you like your music heavy and focused on Christ then this is for you!
