Today I shut the door on yesterday,
My failures and pains of yesterday;
All of the sorrows and mistakes I leave behind
Only taking the lessons I have learned from them.
Today is a new day.
Yet another year of suffering,
Today throughout all I have found many rewards;
I carry gratitude from the many blessings
I have received as I shut the door.

The open door of another year
I’ve entered by the grace of God,
I carry no fears or dread.
Only taking faith of what is to come,

All that is beautiful and wonderful
I hold in my heart forever,
I hold the key to happiness within me,
Knowing life is what I allow it to be.
