"OUR CHILDREN" After leaving the service we both eventually ended up back in Bluefield, West Virginia and married other people which later was to end in divorce for both of us. I was blessed with two beautiful children from this marriage. Laura Leigh was born on May 12, 1969 and Chris was born on August 11, 1970. Barry and I eventually met and began to date. After dating for almost two years we decided to get married. We were married on December 1, 1975. Laura and Chris were very excited but our family wasn't quite right just yet. We had different last names and the children couldn't understand why they weren't called Wagner. Shortly after that, Barry adopted both Laura and Chris and now we were a real family under one name. He raised them as his own children and loved them as a natural father would love his children. I thank the Lord every day for the wonderful husband he sent to me and the loving father he blessed my children with. God has been so good to our family. Laura eventually graduated and was married to Ronald Akers and they have four children - Alyssa, Jacob, Tricia and Joshua. Ron and Laura live in Rhode Island. Chris graduated and moved to North Carolina. He has two children - a daughter, Austin Brooke and a son - Logan. Chris owns his own construction company, Chris Wagner Construction, in North Carolina.
