I'm not Thoreau or Emerson, But this I say to you, There are wonders in God's creation That speak of his Love The delicate fragrance of the woods, Rich in spice and sweet perfum Remind me of the Bridegroom Who beckons us to draw near. The dew that drips form the trees, Like diamonds from the Bridegroom's hand Replenish the earths floor, So dainty- coloured flowers can bloom ever more. His paintbrush skillfully sweeps and dots To prepare every leaf and bloom For His beloved to enjoy and savour, To make her yearn to dwell with Him In His house forever. There's something about a walk in the woods On an early sunday morning That draws us close to Him And prepares us to receive His word. And sing a psalm And share His love That others may know as we know The riches of His glory! R McLendon...1996
