When I got married and had a family there never seemed to be enough time for church. My husband worked five and sometime six days a week. It seemed like we just didn't have enough time.
Then our youngest son was saved and baptised . He was always after me to go to church . He would say "but Mom you just don't know what you are missing. You are missing out on so much of life." I couldn't understand what he meant. So I would go to church with him once in a while more or less to please him. But it always seemed like the Lord was trying to tell me something by the things that was happening in my life and I just wouldn't listen.
Then in 1977 my husband was in a real bad auto accident. I know now that it was by the grace of God that he wasn't killed ,but I still wouldn't listen to the Lord.
Then one day I started losing weight. I went from 130 to 89 lbs in less than six months.I knew then that the Lord was trying to tell me something. So I said to the Lord , "Lord I know you heal and I know you are the savior of the world. If I get out of this hospital my life is yours". And when my health returned in about two months , I was able to go to church . I told the Lord "here is my life do what you want with me." When I went to the altar that night ,well I can't tell you what a new life feeling I have . It was like doing an about face. I never realized what I had been missing. I had missed out on so much of my son's christian life as he grew up. Now he was a teenager. If They ask me at church to do something to help them I did. They had a singing group called "The Rainbow Connection",( Our Pastors wife was a member of this group.)" They were a blessing to me and to everyone. I helped in bible school for several years until I went into business and couldn't , until they started having it at night .Then I started helping again. I haven't helped in a few years. I let the younger ones do it now.
Over the years I have had so many prayers answered. The Lord said "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." That is just what I did . I thank God everyday for His Son that died on the cross for my sins. I also thank Him everyday for my church and my church family They are always there if you need someone.No matter what you need ,they are there.
I feel I have another family now . My internet family in Christ .I thank the Lord everyday for all he has done for me and all He is going to do . Because I know He answers all prayers. All I know is the God is a great and wonderful God , and that He means everything to me.
