Hey y'all,
This page is based on the two trips Mom & I made to the Outer Banks, as well as conversations with Andy, Kacie, John & Shannon on February 9, 2013. Even so, by no means is this page a plan, only a point of reference. Much of the "Itinerary" & "Area Attractions" Mom & I have done on either the first or both previous trips, and enjoyed them. Most have costs involved. The section of the Outer Banks where we stayed is in the town of Salvo, NC. (map). We like this area, because it is not glitzy, there are very few chain restaurants /stores. There are some local artisan shops and local restaurants. of course, there are the beaches - - not crowded, and you can drive on them . . . with 4-WD Following is some information. If you need more, please ask. As of today (2/10/2013) Andy & John have committed to the trip. The house has four bedrooms, leaving one empty. See you soon,
Dad
Our 2013 House Salvo, N.C. Description Outer Banks Beach Rules & Regulations |

Climate Wind is an everyday occurrence on the
Outer Banks, and can range from gentle southwest breezes to strong
northeast storm winds. Local weather changes rapidly and can be very
unpredictable. Spring days are usually warm, and are often broken by fast-moving but severe thunderstorms. Winter temperatures are usually cool, though the wind can make them bitterly cold. Spring and Fall days can vary a great deal between these two extremes. Mosquitoes can be a significant problem throughout the warm- weather months. Clothing should be seasonal, but have extra gear available for wind and rain. As much as having shared experiences are GREAT each of us are on their own. . . . both on the road, and while at OBX. Should our plans coincide GREAT. If not, that's cool too.
