All About Guys

by Amy Hanson
****************************************************************************
Well! I can say a lot about guys. To start with, there are seven basic kinds of guys:

1. The kind of guy that will not take no for an answer.
2. The type of guy that girls fall in love with easily.
3. The kind of guy who's a total freak and is named Fredrick or Goustaff.
4. The type of guy who says the word "Duh!" after every sentence.
5. The kind who's "Mama's boy" and does whatever their mother tells them to.
6. The type of guy who has a mouth full of metal and who is a total weirdo who doesn't know the meaning of "sex," and barely knows the meaning of "girls."

And last, but certainly not least, there's the last kind of guy:
7. The guy of your dreams!

So, to all the girls out there, I write. There's one point you can't forget: A guy that you think might be the guy of your dreams might be a heartbreaker. There are so many guys out their like that. But, if you do find the man of your dreams, good luck!

Makeup Tips
by Tiffany

* When you put on your makeup, make sure you put compact on.
* Do not use blush unless it matches your skin perfectly. Bright cheeks are way out of it.
* Always make sure you wash your makeup off before you go to bed. If you don't, you'll look a day older overnight.
* When you want to wash off eye makeup, don't wipe the washcloth outwards. Always wipe it inwards, so you do not get crows feet.
* When you use compact, make sure that you have the right tone of your skin.
* When you use lipstick, make sure that, if you have a dark complexion, use a dark tone of lipstick and lip liner. If you have a lighter complexion, use a shiny, glittery, or light lip gloss.
* When you put your makeup on, make sure that you don't have a makeup line. Your neck and all of your face should be one color.
* When you put on eye shadow, try not to use colors like blue, yellow, red, or bright green. Those colors went out with the '70's.

Horoscopes
by Madame Tiffany * ARIES (March 21-April 19) Be careful what you do this month, because one little misstep, one badly thought-out risk, might just blow up in your face.

* TAURUS (April 20-May 20) If you want to take a challenge this month, you'd better do it soon. Chances can be lost, you know.

* GEMINI (May 21-June 20) This month, you should be nice and caring to as many people as possible. If you don't, they might turn against you.

* CANCER (June 21-July 22) This month, you might lose a lot of friends. They will find out by an unknown source if you talk about them. And then, there might just be rumors about you.

* LEO (July 23-August 22) This month will be very good for you. You will get almost everything you ask for, as long as you follow one simple direction: Do not ask for too much, or you might just get nothing.

* VIRGO (August 23-September 22) This month, be prepared to deal with a very heart-breaking problem. It might take quite awhile to get over it, but, if you are strong, you WILL get over it.

* LIBRA (September 23-October 22) This month you should work as a team as much as you can. Many minds are better than one. Besides, you might not be able to accomplish much of anything by yourself.

* SCORPIO (October 23-November 21) This month will be a very good one if you share your joy with your friends and family. If you don't, all your joy may turn to evil!

* SAGITTARIUS (November 22-December 21) You'll have a great month. You will make new friends, but you will lose some old ones. Just be careful what you say to your new friends and what old friends you choose to lose.

* CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19) This month you will buy into what others believe, but you must be careful not to believe too much. If you do, you may be left with nothing at all for your efforts.

* AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18) This month you will be loved by everyone. But, be warned, if you lie or cheat, you will deeply damage, or even DESTROY their love.

* PISCES (February 19-March 20) This month when you are groggy or upset, try to remember something or someone you love, and that should cheer you up quickly.

GERI HALLIWELL - SCHIZOPHONIC
Rating = 4 out of 5!!!

From Spice Girl to solo girl, Geri Halliwell has definitely lost her "Ginger" image and taken on a vampy new look. For all those who said her platform-heeled step out of the world's most successful group would leave her nowhere...think again! This girl has definitely recreated herself and her starstruck career. She now presents us with her debut solo album, Schizophonic.

We've all heard the 'full of attitude' first single, Look At Me, and if you liked that, then this album is sure to provide you with endless hours of music's finest. From the Spanish style of her latest single Mi Chico Latino the soft bedroom jazz of Goodnight Kiss, Geri has captured the music of the world in just one album, including the 'in your face' Bag It Up, not to metion the Asian twists to Let Me Love You. Geri intertwines a sound to everybody's preference of music.

Although she was dubbed 'the Spice Girl who couldn't sing,' Geri is shocking media and fans with a more polished tone her sexy, deep voice. Throught the CD she is accompanied by fine vocalists and musicians, which compliment her songs and style well.

The issues covered by the catchy lyrics dwell on varying subjects, each with their own significance and direction. The 10 tracks on the album were all better than I was expecting them:
* Look at Me--Rating: 9/10
* Lift Me Up--Rating: 8/10
* Walkaway--Rating: 7/10
* Mi Chico Latino--Rating: 10/10
* Goodnight Kiss--Rating: 7/10
* Bag It Up--Rating: 7/10
* Sometime--Rating: 8/10
* Let Me Love You--Rating: 8/10
* Someone's Watching Over Me--Rating: 7/10
* You're in a Bubble--Rating: 8/10

So, as you can see from the high ranking scores, this ablum is certainly a 'must have' for anybody. Forget the old, spicy image, this girl has done it once and for all. Her debut album can be summed up in two words... Simply Brilliant!

Health and Fitness
by Steffani-Amber

TIPS FOR HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS:
*** Get the junk food out of your house!!!
Here's how:
*** Instead of buying or making a whole cake or pie, go to a cafe and order ONE slice and eat it there. Don't eat it at home, because at home you feel more comfortable, and therefore eat more.
*** Instead of buying big boxes of ice cream, buy a bow of ice cream sandwiches and eat only one!
*** When you are planning to go to a party, don't eat very much the morning and afternoon of the party. But, whatever you do, don't starver yourself or you will get very hungry and binge at the party.
*** In the afternoons and evenings, when boredom leads to extra eating, go for a walk or a swim. That way, you'll get away from the kitchen and also burn calories!

This month's healthy recipe is TUNA AND RICE.
INGREDIENTS:
*** 1/2 cup microwave cook rice (no oil)
*** 1 box of tuna in water
*** Lemon juice
*** 1 teaspoon of oil
*** Salt
*** Regular salad (optional)

1. Take the cook rice out of the pot and put it in a bowl.
2. Drain the water out of the tuna.
3. Mix the tuna with the rice.
4. Add the salad.
5. Drip lemon juice on the mixture.
6. Add a one teaspoon of oil.
7. Add a little bit of salt.
8. Mix.

Bon Appetite!

That's all for this column. If you have any question about these issues, feel free to e-mail me at sweetsteph5@yahoo.com. I've been through all of this--weight gain, temporary weight loss, eating disorders, and finally, permanent weight loss. I would like to thank Weight Watchers International and "slimness" and "fit" magazines.

Embarassing Moments
by Jen

Hi! I'm Jen, and I'm an Embarassing Moments Organizer. I'll be collecting horror stories from the media, and from you. Here's a story from a girl I once knew. I'll call her Abby:

At the time, Abby was only a sixth grader, just starting her first year of middle school. She wanted to be cool, and playing in the student volleyball game was the right way to do just that. So, she wore her sneakers and her tight black short shorts to the court. It was minutes before the game when she found out that she had to wear a school gym shirt. These shirts were huge--they hung down to Abby's knees. Everyone on the court and sidelines thought she wasn't wearing any pants! Instead of getting to show off her legs, Abby was totally humiliated and didn't dare to go out socially after that.

Did you like this story or think you have a more gruesome tale? Please e-mail me at blindtreu@aol.com under the subject "Embarassed!" If you would not like me to include your name in future articles, please say so in your a-mail. Thanks!

More Embarassing Moments by Puddle Duck

From Adrienne Hiatt of Demotte: Adrienne says that she was once in a play. When she stood up to say her part on opening night, she fell down on her bottom. She says that she had the whole audience and cast cracking up.

So, if any of you out there have embarassing moments, please submit them to me, Puddle Duck, at e-mail address kezal20@yahoo.com. Also, if you have any quote you would like published, send it to me at the same address.

Popularity Advice
by Amanda

Aren't you fitting in? Do you want to be popular? If you do, e-mail me at dwnrtpnay@hotmail.com and tell me your problem. I'll give you some advice! But first, let's talk about popularity for a minute, so you know what you're wishing for.

Popularity isn't so wonderful all of the time. Come to think of it, a lot of people are just happy the way they are, because sometimes being popular isn't that great. Let's think about this for a moment.

Some people are just friends with you because you're popular! They would probably not be the friends you want. They aren't the friends that would always be there for you after graduation, throughout college, and for your whole life.

It's good to meet new people, but, face it, sometimes "friends" can just stab you in the back! It's a commonly known fact that you can only trust your closest friends.

Secrets? Well, 95 out of 100 girls say they almost never keep their friends' secrets. They almost always say something! So don't tell a secret, unless you are ready to believe that, soon, the whole school might know.

Be nice to everyone you meet. You might not know it, but nice people gain others' trust. It makes them feel good to have a friend who's not only nice, but loyal and trustworthy, too. Everyone except the overly shallow wants a friend like that!

Doing your best at plays and sports activities make people see that you're good at something. Who knows? Someone may come up to you and compliment you. Then, you will have gained the respect and friendship of someone else, and you will also have a good feeling.

What you really want to do is make a close bond with friends. That's the best thing. If you fight with your good friends, even though you might think it's the end of the world, most of the time it isn't worth losing a good friendship. Try to stick together and work things out. It will help. Also, you might not want to always stick to a two person bond. Get a lot of people into it and you can have your own little group, and maybe you'll become the popular ones. But, make sure you don't become an exclusive clique; always be sure to include new people whenever you can.

A lot of people don't know when they are popular. If you come up to someone who is in the "in crowd," and ask how they became so popular, most of the time the answer will be something like, "Who, me? No, I'm not popular."

Many people think that a way to be popular is to lie. They lie that they know things or people, when they really don't. THAT DOESN'T HELP! If people find out that you're lying, then they probably won't respect you as much. Just tell the truth, even when it's really hard. Later on, it will probably pay off. Friendships with lies in them tend to not last. People who lie to each other usually drift apart in a year or so. Being honest with one another make friendships last.

So, that's my column. E-mail me at dwnrtpnay@hotmail.com for help on fitting in, keeping friendships, and having a good, honest kind of popularity!
