As you opened your eyes
What did you see
Strange looking people
Staring to see.
They counted your fingers, your toes, and agreed
You were perfection, they all were so pleased.
A beautiful baby made with the love
Of a mother and father
A gift from above.
You've begun a new life
Of living and sharing
A world full of hope
Of laughing and caring.
You'll be mommy's little helper
From morning till night
And you'll be daddy's little lady
Dressed in frilly dresses and tights.
Soon you'll grow too old for dolls
And then will come the day
When with you comes a stranger
With whom you want to play.
Then mommy's little helper
And daddy's little girl
Will take a turnabout in time
To discover a new world.
You'll find your heart will be broken
But at last will come the day
When you will meet the one
With whom you'll want to stay.
The church bells will ring out loud
You'll walk down the aisle in white
You'll look like a Fairy Princess
And he will be your Knight
You'll spend your lives together
And remember back to the days
When you went from an infant to adult
