WHEN I'M GONE

Cry not for me when I'm gone,
Try not to shed a tear,
My life upon this earth has been.
Too precious to compare.
I'm grateful for my parents,
For none could take their place,
I'm grateful for my family,
I love to see their face.
I've had the love of family,
Through each and every year,
We have the kind of closeness,
That many people fear.
But if I could make a wish,
And have it to come true,
I'd wish you the joy of family,
The love that shines right through.
So when my time to go has come,
I thank the Lord above,
For all the wonderful people,
And especially my parent's love.
You see we are as one,
We can read each other's mind,
When one is in need of something,
The other two are right behind.
It's called love for one another,
It's called a trust from deep within,
It's called the admiration of each other,
That's the way our family has been.
So to me I've experienced the best,
That life has to offer me,
And so I have no regrets,
If I were called upon to leave.
To leave this world and be loved,
Is the greatest joy of all,
For I think of the many poor souls,
That have never felt happy at all.
I have all my childhood memories,
I have all my dreams come true,
So what more could I ask for,
Sweet memories of you.
I've seen the beauty of the flowers,
I've heard the wonders of the sea,
I've tasted the best of good cooking,
I've witnessed to God my deeds.
So when God calls me home to him,
No matter where or when,
I'll wait for you in Heaven,
Until our time again.
Until our time to reunite,
And be with one another,
I'll smile a smile and sing a song,
And look at the many wonders.
For it will be a wonder,
That none other can compare,
When we will be together,
In the glory of God's care.
