TEDDY

As I lay down to sleep at night,
Please leave Teddy by the light,
He takes awhile to fall asleep,
Sometimes he ends up by my feet.
I know that he is only a bear,
But my Teddy gets lonely when I'm not there,
And I don't want him to cry at night,
So won't you leave him a little light?
He's been my friend for oh so long,
I tell him secrets too,
He speaks to me when no one hears,
He tells me what to do.
He helps to keep me safe at night,
When it gets dark outside,
We cuddle way down in my bed,
And play a game or two.
I have no one to tuck me in,
Like other children do,
I know I had a mom and dad,
I have their picture too.
I know they went to Heaven,
To be with God above,
I have a picture of Jesus,
It tells me "I'm Loved".
My Teddy said its beautiful,
And I can't wait to see,
All the pretty flowers,
And all the pretty trees.
We won't be afraid of the night time,
We won't need our light on,
Cause Teddy said its wonderful,
I can even see my mom.
And dad can bounce me on his knee,
And pat me on the head,
And see I've been a good boy,
And see how much I've grown.
So as I lay down in my bed,
And we fall fast asleep,
We'll close our eyes and dream of you,
Until we finally meet.
