I'LL HOLD THE LIGHT FOR YOU (by Linda Malcomb)

I'll hold my light for you each night
Until the sun shines through
I know you fear the fall of night
I once feared night time too.
I promised you before I left
I would never leave your side
We shared so much the two of us
Both little-- for our size.
I promised mom and daddy
We'd keep our night light on
To comfort and protect us
Until the early dawn.
The night time seems so scary
When you're little and afraid
But when you turn the light on
What a difference it can make.
I'll say my prayers with you each night
Just like we used to do
I'll dry away the little tears
I'll forever watch over you.
I know you wonder where I went
And why I've gone away
But if you saw my new home
You'd know why I must stay.
I'm living in a beautiful place
And someday you will see
Just what its like to live here
The birds, the flowers, and trees.
And you won't need the light on
For you'll never be afraid
You'll go to sleep and dream a dream
And awaken to a new day.
So go to sleep and say your prayers
I'll hold the light for you
And someday we will meet again
My sister--I love you.
