SHE AWOKE AMONG THE ANGELS
It seems like only yesterday
That I held you in my arms
And tucked you in your little bed
I knew you were safe from harm.
Then after you we had four more
Three boys and now two girls
You thought it was your duty
To help me with the chores.
A working mom and working dad
A loving family
Dad got the Bible every night
And told us what would be.
You graduated college and became a nurse
The best one you could be
You impressed so many people
You married and had a family.
Your pride and joy was in your sons
You loved with all your heart
They made you proud and gave you love
Right from the very start.
Then you became a grandma
Of a girl and then a boy
How wonderful your life was then
There is no greater joy.
When illness struck you prayed to God
You weren't afraid to die
You knew His House was open
And He'd take you in the sky.
We all told you that we loved you
And when your time had come
You awoke among the Angels
For God had taken you Home.
