The individual pages which follow, and which comprise the whole of this endeavor, describe real situations, more precisely real personalities which may and do exist within our own genus and species, Homo Sapiens. The words are not crafted to either shock or titillate the reader, but are used to describe the existence and the pitiful cause(s) which are the basis for the personalities.
A reader may, unknown to themselves, possess within themselves the genesis of the situation(s) described. And It is conceivable that the reader of the words could "trigger" that which had been,within them, heretofore unknown. In this regard, we deem it necessary to furnish guidance to those who may realize this "trigger" effect.
Sigmund Freud, whose theories in the realm of psychoanalysis have been both accepted and rejected, has given us insight as follows: " The id is the instinctual part of the personality and contains all the basic drives and emotions that come from the animal nature in humans. At the other extreme is the superego. It ecompasses cultural values, ideals and rules of conduct acquired from parents and peers. To mediate between the id and superego, people gradually build a third stucture called the ego. The role of the ego is to see that the drives of the id are reasonably fulfilled without disturbing the superego. The ego is brought into play by anxiety, an emotion triggered by any potential conflict between the id and the superego. If the ego is not strong enough to manage the conflict, the result is neurosis"
CAVEAT- The matter of multiple personalities is not classifiable as a neurosis, and by virture of this exclusion should not be treated as such.
In Simple words: The pages that follow on this site may cause some problems for people who have been in similar situations. Sissy and I have tried very hard to keep the graphic details of our abuse to a minumn but even that can trigger someone who may have had something like this happen to them, and they may not want to or chose not to remember it.
We do feel it wise to take this into account as you visit our site. We do not wish to trigger any problems for readers.
