Do You Remember?
There were days long ago when I would smile
A silly smile really, One such as a child who knows nothing of hiding
Building the memories of a lifetime
Shall we run and play? You chase me as I chase you
With giggles of innocence, The greatest of times
They meant the whole world to you
We knew nothing of pain or sadness
Days have past since that time, A lifetime really
Those thoughts come back late at night
Where did they go?
And we thought nothing of the ending of those days
As we grew up and sadly apart
Some have vanished completely, Except within the heart and mind
Can you still see their faces? Do you hear their voices?
The voice of a child beckoning you to come out and play
See you soon old friends, and we will continue the game
Next time for eternity
Until then dance among the clouds and smile sunshine in my direction.
