"You And Me"

Here or There, Let your heart decide
Shall we walk hand in hand?
Or will separate paths be chosen
Decisions of the present, Once not required
Days of yesteryear

Moving through the memories, One wonders
Sifting through the ashes of love
Matters of the heart
No rules apply in this wicked game

Friends choose sides, Families ask why
All shall lose, Only two will cry
Or could it have been but one?
Matters little now

Be aware of the dark side
Of a place known as nowhere
The edge of your emotional being
To return with but a hat to hold
And a hollowness one never knew existed

A shoebox full of photographs remains
It is as if it were a dream
The life of better days
For all to see
It's all that left, Of You And Me.
