Louisville weekend and more
Life on "The Road" has it's ups and downs so to say, as the guys in SICK WORLD found out this past weekend. First, the little hellraisers brought their brand of groove to Vibrations at Dunbar, WV along with Room 101, another Huntington, WV band. The show wasn't the greatest turn out due to a local "fair" festival going on the same night, but all and all, they still managed to win over some new sheep to the flock

Saturday, SICK WORLD visited Louisville, KY and joined up with local acts Shapeless Matrix and Stonedown at P.J's Sports Bar. Another great show with this time, more people and a better crowd response. Also, Shapeless Matrix was extremely impressive, combining the sounds of Pantera/Rollins Band/Korn to create an interesting and satisfying blend. They will be another great band that the Demonspawns from West Virginia will be looking forward to playing with in the new future.

As a side note: finding a hotel in Louisville is very interesting, especially if one of the country's largest lawn & garden expos is going on at the same time. After despertly looking all around the city and anything between their and Lexington (a good 2hrs away), they did manage to find a suite available but had to shell out a pretty penny for. However, the room did have the porn channel so i guess that's a fair trade.......

That's all for now. Be sure to check out the SICK WORLD Agenda page for added shows, the Links page for more twisted links, and our NEW Hate Mail page......remember to STAY SICK!!!!!!!!!!!

Incantation Part 2 and Little News Bits....

-The Sick World/Incantation show is almost complete, only a few minor details remain. Possible date could either be on May 20 or 21 and will also include 2 other death metal bands. One of whom, which name escapes me now, is currently opening up for Incantation, and a Huntington death metal Alucard. All that is left is to talk to the club owner and it's set. Even though Sick World is not a death metal act, this will be techniquely a death metal show and Huntington's first death metal show of 98 (the last being of fall of 97 when Obituary came to town).

a little side note: Even though Huntington has numerous death metal fans, the reason for such few death (or even any kind of metal)metal shows is that most of them are banned from the city. The local major apparently doesn't approve of such acts as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, and even though they're not death metal, Marylin Manson, so these bands recieve the big boot from the city. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! What these closed mined people don't realize is that the more they try to take it away, the more people want it. All of this just because some mayor who thinks any music past 1934 is "the tool of devil" and is so up tight that if you stuffed a lump of coal up her butt, in 2 weeks you would have a diamond.....Just had to get it off my chest

Possible Incantation Show and Theft Reported!!!

-Incantation recently played in Columbus, OH's Jammers West the following night of the Sick World, Bent and Entity show and Incantation's guitarist seemed real interested in playing in West Virginia. Is all goes well, this show might be taking place either in May or June at Huntington's infamous club, The Drop Shop.....More to come on this one. If you're unfamilar with Incantation, they are one of the most intense death metal acts that have come along in years and they are slowly growing into one of the most influencial acts as well

-Speaking of the Jammers West Show, apparently someone has stolen the camera used to take pictures at the show so I guess we won't be posting any shots from that show. However, pictures of sometype will be posted this weekend. If anyone has found the camera though (one of those instant types) email us please.....

Sick World Comes Home!!!

-March 28, 1998 3:02pm

-Sick World makes it's return to it's hometown of Hunington, WV on April 11th at Huntington's infamous club, The Drop Shop!! This will be Sick World's first show in Huntington since January......If you are unfamilar with Sick World's situation with it's hometown, let me explain......Before the fall of 1997, Sick World was very infamous for constantly playing Huntington and drawing in somewhat large numbers of fans to the clubs. Well, a local policeman (who's real cool and books numerous shows in the city) put together an all ages show in the early fall of 97, sponsered by an up-and-coming radiostation. That crowd had the shock of it's life when Sick World hit the stage. Bringing their pyros, foul language, merchandise (which includes the infamous "Satan Pig" t-shirt that has a picture of pig with a pentagram on it's forehead wearing an inverted cross necklace!!), and bible ripping, a lot of people got real upset and complained. The cop who booked the show apparently got in a lot of trouble with school board officals and local government officals and Sick World got BlackBalled from Huntington!!! Clubs would "mysteriously" forget to book them when promised directly to the band......Now the cop has invited the band to do another all ages show, but the band must tone down the set. We'll inform ya what's going to go down after the show and we'll all see if Sick World raises even more cain with the city

-The March 27th show at Jammers West in Columbus, OH went extremely well. The band did not bring it's pyro's, bibles, or smoke machines, but still showed that they can put on a killer show without all that and manage to win some new fans as well. Pictures will be posted as soon as possible.......

That's all for now, but more is to come........Remember, STAY SICK!!!!!!!
