Steps Leading to the 'Leat' Walk

The 'Leat Walk' once carried water, diverted from the river that still flows through St.Mawgan village, to power the mill some quarter mile further down the valley. The mill and its attendant cottages are no more, but a public footpath leads past it's original site at the end of Windsor Lane and on to the coast at Mawgan Porth, a mile & a half from St. Mawgan. We have uncovered a portion of the old leat from above the Tea-House down to a point above, & adjacent to, the Zen garden. In time we shall uncover more and extend the path that is currently blocked by a fallen tree trunk and decades of accumulated soil & vegetation.
