The Wedding of Christ

Not long ago, it was taught by one of the Church of God fellowships, that the Wedding of our Lord and Savior, will actually be held in Heaven. Let’s examine that.

Luke 12:35-36 reads: “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; and you yourselves like men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately.”

If their Lord were returning from the wedding, as the King James Bible translates it, then his servants would have missed the wedding! In actual fact, the Greek word translated as “from” is G1537, “ek” which also means “for”. Therefore, shouldn't the sentence correctly read, “when he will return “for” the wedding?

Let’s read what Christ said in Luke 22:15-17: “And he said to them, with desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: for I say to you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, take this, and divide it among yourselves: for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.”

Christ indicated that He will not eat lamb or drink wine again until He does so in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God shall come to this earth, not up in Heaven. Therefore, don't the above scriptures indicate that both the wedding and the marriage supper of our Lord and Savior will in fact take place on this earth?
