Faded Photographs
Looking through the photographs,
Across the distant past;
Where did all the time go,
The years went by so fast.
Where are the little babes I held,
Bundles wrapped in blue;
I turned around and you were gone,
Are they somewhere, there in you?
When did you grow into men,
Where are those little boys?
The ones whose laughter filled the air,
As you raced from toy to toy.
Where are those silly, toothless grins,
And those precious tiny hands?
Are they still somewhere inside of you,
Now that you've become men?
A Mother's heart will always see,
Across the distant past;
The babes she once held close in her arms,
In faded photographs.
