"D. Ray White"

Way down in West Virginia ,

There’s some people who are one of a kind

They don’t need nothin’ from nobody

‘cause there already doin’ fine

Ya got Hasil Adkins hunchin’

And Mamie’s raising hell

Legends of D. Ray White will never die like the rebel yell.

And ol Jesco dancin’ in his daddy’s shoes

Yea ol’ Hasil still hunchin’ out them Boone County Blues

And ol’ Mamie you know shes done some time in jail

And the legend of D. Ray white will never die like the rebel yell.

Bertie Mae White

She’s the strongest woman that I’ve ever met in my life

She’s raised over twenty-four of her own

and had to watch her husband die

She’s always fighting hard and livin’ off the land

when she’s done living in this world

you know the lord is going to take her by her hand

and ol’ Jesco still dancin’ in his daddy’s shoes

hey ol’ Hasil is still hunchin’ out them Boone County blues.

And Mamie you know she’s still raising hell

And the legend of D. Ray White will never die like the rebel yell

Yea the legend of D. Ray White will never die like the rebel yell
