When Samantha tells her mother that she plans to marry an Hispanic, Karen is appalled and forbids Samantha to marry Roberto. Karen is very bitter and prejudiced due to the death of her husband, who was killed in an accident four years earlier by a drunken Hispanic. Later, in a dream, Karen is shown how Jesus related to people of all races and walks of life. She is shown His love and compassion for all people, and must deal with her own feelings of prejudice and hatred.
