Freddy,

Through the years I've watched you grow from my little chubby baby into the wonderful man that you are. I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of you.

You, as the oldest, have taught me so much. I've learned patience as we spent years in the "terrible two" stage. Somehow I knew it had to get better.

You taught me about diversity and acceptance when you went through your gothic and all black periods. Although you looked different to the world, you were still my son and I was proud of you for being brave enough to express yourself.

You taught me how important faith and prayer are as twice we almost lost you to illness. The power of prayer and faith have brought you to be a strong, healthy young man.

But most of all you have taught me what it means to love unconditionally. From the first time I held you in my arms I fell in love. You are my first born and my father's namesake. Nothing can ever change my love for you.

All the memories of your childhood come rushing in as I now have to accept that my little boy is a man.

I've held your hand as you were learning to walk and craddled you while you were sick. I've cheered you on through years of basketball and baseball. And been so proud to watch you as you fulfill your dreams. You have made me so proud so many times.

As I watch you take those steps from childhood into manhood, know that the tears I shed are from joy and love. You have your life in front of you and no matter what road you choose I will always be proud of you.

Congratulations Freddy!

I love you!
