Ann Hall Walter
Ann and Nicholas Newlin, knows as 'little Nicholas", announced their intentions of marrying, at the Concord Meeting house, in 1746/47. Ann was the widow of Thomas Walter, and had not been a Quaker when she married Thomas. Later, after her marriage, she applied for membership and was accepted as a member of the Concord MM. by 1743/44. Thomas died in 1745, after having been a member in good standing of the Concord MM since 1740 when he presented his certificate from the Nottingham MM
It is believed that Ann's parents were Thomas Hall Jr. and wife Mary. Although this is not proven with primary documentation, their names are located on her marriage certificate in the spot where relatives traditionally sign, so it reasonable to go on the working assumption that they were, indeed, her parents.
Ann died in 1808 and was buried in the Concord Friends Cemetery, having outlived her husband by 18 years.
