Ruth Ann Frame
According to her tombstone, Ruth Ann Frame was born in 1818, but no record of her birth or marriage to Elisha Phipps Newlin has yet been found. We find them living, before 1850, in West Fallowfield Twp, in Chester County, on Buck Run, next to Elisha's parents, James and Sarah Phipps Newlin. They appear for the last time in the 1850 census, and move for some reason to Belmont County, Ohio, where Ruth appears as the HOH in Colerain, in the 1860 census.
Ruth Ann lived until 1900, and her last years were spent with her widowed daughter Sarah Newlin Herst. Ruth Ann is buried in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Belmont County, Ohio, sharing a marker with Sarah, and these two are near her children Robert L and his wife, Mary Etta, and William H. and wife. It is unknown where Elisha is buried, though not for lack of my looking!
