Haunted House

About Us

The Haunted Hille Hayride is currently celebrating it's 5th year. Through this time, we have entertained thousand of vistitors and Halloween enthusiast. We offer many unique and diverse features that makes us one of the most original and exciting Halloween attractions in the state. Unlike many other haunted attractions, the Haunted Hills Hayride offers a full line up of the traditional Halloween activities. Our attraction is comprised of three parts: a hayride, a haunted trail and a haunted house.

The hayride takes about an hour to complete. The hayride goes through the Haunted Trail and ends at the Haunted House itself. The hayride comes equipped with it's own story teller. The story tellers are to provided to explain the "Back Story" of the hauntings as well as to entertain and frighten the visitors. Each story teller is presented in character. Hillbillies, lunatics, monsters and other fearsome fiends are used as story tellers and guides.

The Haunted Trail is a long, backwoods road that is solely used for this event. The trail is gravel, rugged and features no modern luxuries such as street lights. The trail road alone provides our visitors with a wonderful view of some of nature's beauty along the Yatesville Lake. The Haunted Trail, on the other hand, is packed with various gruesome and horrible scenes. Along the Haunted Trail, one is almost guaranteed to see lynchings, chainsaw murders, the Moth Man, Bigfoot, aliens, ghost and other terrors. One of the hallmarks of the Haunted Trails is the Civil War battle that takes place. The Civil War battle is an authentic re-enactment which has been well noted for it's realism. The battle scene is the only one of it's kind used in the state of Kentucky.

At the end of the trip through the Haunted Trail lies the Haunted House. The house that is used is genuinely over 100 years old. At one time, the house was used as a guard post for a turn of the century prison. Although it is not considered to be actually haunted, there have been many strange stories circulated about the house's history. For a Halloween events, the house comes with it's own "family". Among these family members include house guides, trolls, murderers, demons, zombies and other assorted baddies. Nearly every room and corner in the house holds a surprise. The house has been well noted for it's many thrills and chills over the years. Crowds who are stuck waiting in line for one of our haywagons are kept entertained by an assortment of ghouls, ghost stories and classic horror movies such as Wolfman and Dracula.

All proceeds for the Haunted Hills Hayride will go to the "Coats for Kids" charity and 4-H scholarship funds. The "Coat for Kids" works to ensure that needy children are properly prepared for the cold KY winters. This charity is run through the offices of the Louisa Police Deptartment.
