ON KRZYSZTOF KIESLOWSKI Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski met a premature death from a massive heart attack in 1996, leaving the film world and his many admirers stunned by his sudden passing. He was one of the most gifted natural filmmakers, with a unique personal style that bespoke a deep understanding of humanity, expressed in beautiful, poetic images.
