Wipe Off Calendar

I got this idea at work.
One of the offices had a wipe off calendar on the wall.
It was much larger than what we can print on the average printer
and it wasn't pretty at all.
But an idea was born. lol

What you will need:

Paint Shop Pro

An image of your choice. Light colors look best.

This zip file
It contains the grid for the calendar with the days of the week.

OR

This zip file
It contains the grid with no days of the week in case you want to add your own.

All Set? Good!

Open your calendar grid psp file.

*If you are using the second grid without the days of the week,
you will have to add new layers and type in the weekdays the way you want them.

Open the image that you want to use.

Select a color from your image background, using the color picker tool.

Go to the bottom layer of your psp file and add a new layer.

Then move your new layer to the very bottom.

Flood Fill this layer with the color you chose.

Make a new layer. This layer should be just above the one you flood filled.

Make a selection around the grid
large enough for the area that you want your image in.

You may want to cover the entire calendar or just a portion of it.

Select your image, then go to EDIT, then COPY.

Go back to your grid, make sure you are on the layer with the selection.
Then go to EDIT, PASTE, Paste into selection.

Now you can go to your layer palette and lower the opacity of your image if desired.

Go to LAYERS, MERGE, Merge all flatten and save as a jpg file.

You can also add tubes to decorate it even more.
Be sure to add a new layer for each tube and merge again when finished.

Now, print it out, make sure your printer is set to Landscape.
Cut off any excess, and laminate.

Use dry erase or wet erase markers to add in your dates.
Then you can wipe it off and reuse month after month.

You could also print this on magnetic sheets and spray it with a fixative after printing.
Now you can stick it on the fridge!

Here is another example:

*Note: The images shown have been reduced.
Yours should print a full page.

Hope you had fun with this tutorial.
