Heartbeat Tag



I saw this on a license plate and decided to try creating it in PSP.

What you will need:

PSP 7

Blade Pro

Gold-Shiny Preset
Unzip the preset into your Blade Pro Environments and Textures folder.

This tut assumes that you know the basics of PSP 7.


Open a new image in PSP 300 x 150 transparent.



Add a new layer.



Set background color to blue #020589 and foreground to null.



Select the text tool.

Type the word JESUS (use all capital letters)using the settings below:


I used Broadway font.
Move your text to the top left side of your image with the mover tool.



Keep selected. Go to Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel.
Use the following settings.



Next go to Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow and use the following settings.



Go to Selections, Select None.

Change the foreground to red #B51515, background null.

Create a new layer. Click on the draw tool.

Use these settings:
Point to Point, Antialias and Vector checked.



Make 2 clicks with your draw tool, similar to the image below.



You can now use the nodes to make your line longer or shorter or angled.
Position the line where you want your next text to be located.

Add a new layer. Click on the text tool.
Change your background to red and foreground to null.
Hold your mouse on the line that you made(until you see the cursor change)
then click to add the text.

Type the word Heartbeat.


I used Black Chancery font.

Oops, now your text is upside down and backwords.

Go to Image, Flip.
Then, Image, Mirror.
That's more like it.

Use the mover tool to position the text on the line.

Click on the deformation tool.
Use the nodes to increase the size and move the text to your liking.
Don't worry if it is no longer on the line.


Apply the deformation.
Go to Effects, Sharpen, Sharpen.
Next apply the same Inner Bever and Drop Shadow as before.
Selections, Select none

Go to the Layer Palette and click on Layer 3 (the layer with the red line)
Right click and choose Delete.



Highlight layer 4, then add a new layer.

Change background back to blue and foreground to null.
Click on the text tool and add the text "of the World".
I used Book Antiqua font. Size 20. Click OK.
Position the text with the mover tool.
Then apply the same inner bevel and drop shadow.
Selections, Select None.

Turn off layer one (Click on the eyeglasses in the layer palette).
Be sure you have one of the other layers highlighted.
Then go to Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.

Add a new layer.
Click on the selection tool.


Draw a selection similar to the one shown here.



Change foreground to White.
Flood Fill the selection with White.
Add a new layer.
Choose the selection tool again and make a selection similar to the one below:



Flood Fill it with White.
Selection, Select None.

Turn off all layers except the two selections that you just made.
Make sure you have one of those layers highlighted.
Go to Layers, Merge, Merge Visible.

Highlight the layer that you just merged.
Go to Effects, Plugin Effects, Flaming Pear, Blade Pro.
Apply the gold_shiny preset.



Then apply the same Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow.

Turn on all layers. Click on Layer One
Flood fill it with White.

Go to Layers, Merge, Merge All Flatten.

Now you can click on the crop tool and crop the image to desired size.

Change Background to red.
Go to Image, Add Border. Use settings shown.



Click on the border with the magic wand tool.

Use these settings.


Apply the same Inner Bevel.
Selections, select none.
Go to Effects, 3D Effects, Buttonize.



Save as a jpg file and

Whew, we are done!!!
